Even if you did make it up, I wouldn't doubt that FF is falling out of touch with the next generation of gamers. Unless these kid's parents introduced them to the series or something, a lot of FF games these days just aren't as good as the competition (Skyrim, Assasin's Creed etc). The gameplay just doesn't cater to today's young gamers imo (not enough action, realism, too much reading, not enough playing) So pretty much the only people that still buy them consistently are the dedicated fans of our generation (20+ year olds)

It's funny, one thing that has stayed the same is the music, my Science teacher in the 8th grade played songs from the Distant Worlds albums during class, and many other students knew the prelude and chocoholic tunes. . . Even if they had no idea where they came from.
I haven't been able to get ANY of my friends to buy this game because, (This is from their mouths not mine) the game is Japanese. And if there is anything that I have learned from interacting with other kids my age, Japanese things (Besides certain Animes like Naruto and Nintendo games) are weird in there eyes. It's a prejudice they have against it. . . most would rather play Dukem Nukem Forever then pick up an old FF game. Hell, most wouldn't even touch a PS2 whereas I still have my old PS1!
My point is, this game, along with other SE products need to be better advertised. . . My generation is losing touch. . . And I can't imagine what will befell my younger brothers'. . .
