I agree we should have this.

Can someone please explain what a Live Vana'diel is? I never get to play XI :/
Wow, that sounds hellish 0.0 Well, I'm 15 and I played most of the Final Fantasy seriesMaybe after 2.0. . . At this point, it might not be so wise.
One thing for sure though, SE needs to advertise more. %90 percent of my age group (14-18) have never even heard of Final Fantasy. Then %9 percent have actually heard it but, never seen any FF game besides FFXIII. . . That measly %1 percent covers about me and three other people. . .whom are all 18~20. . .
Percentages are made up ofc.Not much are like me though, Most/All of my friends like to play other games that's not even good, some doesn't even play games o.O
I can't Imagine me without FF and other great games (Tales of Series, Star Ocean, Other great series)

Live Vanadiel
Funny that they've got the camera next to the abyssea NPC. It used to cycle through random zones (all of which were empty lol)

Thought the video was kinda clear on what was Live Vana'diel, but I'll explain with few words:
It's a live where a camera is put somewhere in the cities (GMs or First-view random player) and shows random things about Vana'diel, the world of Final Fantasy XI. Final Fantasy XIV's would be called Live Hyadelyn, since the planet is called so.

Yeah, I was more on asking who was it that I saw on the Character Selection, and If it only stays on one areaThought the video was kinda clear on what was Live Vana'diel, but I'll explain with few words:

The main purpose of Live Vanadiel was to showcase new expansion areas/content since for example they would follow random parties into BCNMs/Sky/Sea/Limbus fights etc or when there's no one in the office running it, they just swept across all of the game's zones where you'd see parties fighting in the dunes and whatnot.
It's a feature that in this day and age would be worthless, but way back when was pretty damn awesome.

Live Vana'diel got my psyched enough to buy that game. I watched it for weeks, while doing homework and things before I could buy the game. it was pretty exciting, and I loved hearing the music from the different areas.
I would love to see something like this for XIV... when XIV 2.0 is out.
