    XAudio2 crash

Past few weeks this happens on and off.
    XAudio2_7.dll +34C29
    XAudio2_7.dll +2FF91
    XAudio2_7.dll +2B4B3
    XAudio2_7.dll +2A917
    ffxiv_dx11.exe+105366E
    ffxiv_dx11.exe+103636A
    ffxiv_dx11.exe+103C39C
    ffxiv_dx11.exe+1026CBF

error message just prior to crashing to desktop, also any other sound I have playing, such as discord, twitch, itunes, whatever will stop playing music and have to be reloaded.

Some other games report similar issues with XAudio2, thier solutions was to remove XAudio2 from system32 folder, I have tried that and the game will not launch without it so I had to put it back.

This is a really annoying crash because as far as I can tell its completly random when it happens

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

It looks like you are getting a full audio driver crash. Do you recall when this first started happening? Did anything change/update on your PC that coincides with this?

Do you have a dedicated sound card? Also, what is your speaker system like?

If you are getting this error in other games besides Final Fantasy XIV, my first thought would be that you have some program in the background that may be interfering with your audio driver. Avoid having programs running in the background and try doing a clean boot. To do a clean boot, simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

    Maybe a month, no changes.
No dedicated sound card, motherboard has a dedicated part for it but I use a USB headset.

I dont play any other games, I tried that solution i found in other game forums but it doesnt work. All of my drivers are up to date.
I tried clean boot, did not help.

This tends to only happen in endgame content when lots of effects are going off at once.

    Thank you for your response.

Please let us know if the reinstall provided a solution. If not here is how you do a system report

-Go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

    Hope to be of assistance.

Have not experienced an audio crash for several days after wiping and reinstalling PC, so I suppose issue is solved.
