Yeah I would call the company and ask to see if the warranty would still cover that, even if it's past 3 months, sometimes they're nice about it. And if not check if they'd be ok with a replacement where you pay x amount. Hang in there for now and it's good you reached out to the community, they've really helped me out in the past with things like this.

Interesting.. I thought it was only a problem with plasma TVs. I've had my plasma for around 7-8 years, occasional burn in problems but they've mainly been temporary. Mine has a built-in feature (aka gimmick) that will put up some white bars to scroll across for 10ish mins and help clear the screen. That + watching other stuff usually helps with any burn-ins. Ofc I'm sure this varies a lot between brands.

If you're going to keep the TV, it's worth trying to make some conscious choices to help minimize. Like for example if I know I'm going to be a way for more than 5-10 mins I'll throw up the idle-cam or just turn the tv off/throw up something on cable/etc. If it has an anti-image retention feature (I think that's what mine is called) try to get used to using it after every gaming session, or like every night before you go to bed. Another minor thing I did was make the chat box more transparent so it's not so bright. A little mitigation can go a long way.
