Some times you need that extra challenge on savage content. 8 people playing in 1st person mode adds an extra level of excitement.

I don't use it very often unless it's to take the occasional screenshot or if I need to target something easily for a holiday event. Most recently was the Songbird fate, because trying to target them outside of first person was absolutely terrible.
Minfillia never called me over the linkpearl to recommend I "take a look around in first person view mode" so I never did.
I like to use first person, in trials and raids. Makes it more fun.
I flip to it when the camera's trapped in a corner and I don't want to see my toon's head obscuring half the view, or if I want to take screenshots. It's nice traveling in first person with the UI hidden, but there are too many things to keep track of in normal play to really keep it up. I say that as someone who used to play EverQuest in first person 24/7. FFXIV just isn't made for first person.
Screenshots and the Loft Glith
When watering plants in the garden - it looks like a bio break. (Sorry today I’m low brow)
Screenshots and for the Skinchange GATE usually.
If I want a closer look at someone’s character or an npc I’ll use. Occasionally for a more scenic view
This. Before I saw this post I kinda forgot that I AWLAYS use it for Skinchange GATE, it's second nature now and I don't even think about it. Whereas with screenshots, it might be an option I consider to get the photo I want.
