Personally, I feel that whether or not it's a chore is based on your perspective. I understand some feel the mini-games are like chores, but I find them entertaining.
In closing, since imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...:
Seigyoku has no gil to be worth less than Gath's 1 gil.
"Ul'dah can keep their dusty markets, and their streets paved in silver and gold.
Limsa Lominsa keep your pirates, and your ships covered in musty mold.
My loyalty lies with Gridania, with the Moogles and the tree spirits of old." -The Forky Conjurer
I can confirm that this works.Hello Gath -
I specifically remember giving you that gil to use to buy gear not spend so frivolously on the Lodestone forums. Aside from that, I'll suggest to you that if you don't like gathering or crafting then you should setup your keyboard like mine. I have to be present for only a few moments and thank my engineering skills to hardwire my keyboard in a way that allows me to gather / craft with little to no effort.
I will detail instructions... but first here is an image so you can start to replicate at on your own keyboard.
There are two important steps to having an auto gathering keyboard. First you will need some cigarettes. I have all my function keys F1-F12 bound to ENTER (confirmation). When the cigarette has been smoked enough, it will drop ash on these keys and essentially play for me. It's very simple and works.
The second step is to grab yourself some tin foil, a potatoe, a bottle of water, and a bottle of gin. Hot wire the potatoe (wrapped in tin foil) to F1 key, then you will splice the wires putting the positive end into the h20 and the negative end into the gin. This is where some science happens which maybe too difficult to explain, however the theory is something like this. The positive ions from the gin will charge the wire in the potatoe and occasionally build up enough to send an eletrical volt to the keyboard (F1 key) which causes it to believe you had pushed this key down. Thus input is accepted and sent to your PC and hits the confirmation key. You will need to play with the levels of Gin in the bottle, but I have just over a liter of Gin and it causes the input signal every 7.3 seconds.
That's about the gist of it.. the hardest part is the initial setup. Once completed you will be able to farm and farm with no effort. Good luck and God's speed.

Why do all lalafells talk in third person?
I don't.
Don't group me with Gath, eww. (in regards to his way of speaking, not his person)
I am sure Gath is a sweet and nice Lalafell, don't get me wrong, but we definitely don't come from the same region of Hydealyn. We don't use third person to speak of ourselves where I come from.![]()
LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)
Gath is a special case. Gath is the chieftain of all the Dunesfolk Lalafell. The reason Gath talks like this is because only the most insane of all Lalafell can be the chief of the Dunesfolk.I don't.

Gath had too much sun.
Gath's 1 gil is worth more than your 1 gil.
