The guilt tripping is so strong I nearly fell down three times reading the chat images. I've been part of the FC and housing issues before. No way any of us would have asked someone in the FC to surrender their house. No matter our personal feelings about a single player owning a mansion. It's just wrong to approach someone like that, even in desperation.

I'd have flat out told them no, and if they continued to bother me I'd report them for harassing me about my own private house.

no, unless I'm one of the founders of the FC then maybe, yes. I also don't see any reason why the FC master needs to request this from a member. hope you've left that FC and moved on.

So, it's no secret that I hate how the housing stuff has been handled in this game. It's a travesty that it even functions this way and that YoshiP lied about what player housing would end up being. Maybe calling him a liar is a bit extreme, but enough time has passed now with no meaningful changes so I'm more comfortable using extreme language to describe how I feel about it.

Having said that, this is the system we have and it's not on you to give up your house to your FC. I don't even blame players that initially exploited the system with owning multiple houses because SE designed the system to be unfair from the start. Player housing should be universal, instanced, and available to everyone, period. XI got it right. XIV continues to fail and since everyone has just kind of resigned themselves to this system, it's never going to get better.

Keep your house. It's your house and you shouldn't be pressured to give up something that you bought within the confines of the awful system we have. If SE wanted everyone to have a house, they would have made it instanced and available and they wouldn't have put in demolition conditions. It's very clear that SE does NOT want everyone in this playerbase to enjoy the content they've made.

That's the conclusion I've come to, anyway.

I wouldn't, especially if I didn't even know people well enough in the FC and barely had any interactions with FC leader like yourself. An FC doesn't NEED a large house anyways, the only thing they really stand to gain is the extra garden which doesn't make or break anything on a dead server anyways. A medium isn't cramped unless you have like 30members that are actively inside that house, which usually doesn't happen unless the whole FC likes to RP or just afk in the house.

It's difficult to read people through a chat; but, your former FC leader comes off as narcissistic and self-entitled. In no way would should you ever give up something you worked hard on to get just because another person thinks they should have it, especially if they have put no effort forth on their part. If your former fc leader wants a large house let him and "the growing membership" earn the gil to purchase one.

Close a door on this chapter of your in-game life and put as much distance between this individual and yourself as you can. You'll be happier in the long run.

It would have to be pretty crowded FC to get to the point of a medium house which sounds like they already have to become crowded.

No fc leader should ever ask a member to give up ANYTHING they earned. I bought my own house with my own gil. When I started my own fc I saved up and bought a small house and fully furnished it before I ever even invited a single person to join... it should be the leaderships responsibility to house the fc, not force a member to give up theirs

FC leader sounds kinda entitled. It's essentially a guilt trip to get their hands on something you worked for, not them. What you do with it is up to you, but I wouldn't be giving it to them. An 8-man FC with a medium house sounds like they have plenty of room already.

Yes I don't see the guilt tripping in here at all.

They were quite reasonable in what they said in the quote.

I personally don't think personal should be allowed to buy anything but apartments - failing that smalls. But the system is what it is and there's not allowed resale system so you're technically out if you trade.

While I see nothing wrong in their words, I also wouldn't see anything wrong in you refusing. And I wouldn't see anything wrong in them using that as a reason to not keep you in the FC. And likewise nothing wrong in your choosing to leave based on their words thus far.

There just isn't a moral context to this issue thus far. If either party started making demands or getting rude - my response would change.
