Glamour Index - does it exist?

This may be a suggestion but there may also be something like this already. I'm curious. What I am looking for is something like a dressing room. A website with all of the currently available clothing for each race where you can browse tops, bottoms, shoes, hair, whatever and try it all on your character before buying it. An easy way to create an outfit and then you would know what you are working towards. It's kind of overwhelming as it is now for new people because you have no idea what even exists in the first place let alone how its gonna look on your character. If anyone ever used IMVU you'll know exactly what I'm referring to.

Not that I'm aware of. However, you can use the market board to at least browse such items as can be listed on the market board. From there, you can try on each piece. And in the dressing room window, you can "save" the outfit to try on more than one piece at a time. You can also preview coloring a piece different colors.

If only we could have a market board in our homes so we could also preview stuff in the armoire and on our retainers...

... Or just have a record of everything we've collected that we can use to try things on in the dressing room preview.

For the OP, EveK's suggestion is as good as it gets. There's no one-stop shop to preview everything in the game unless you carry it in your inventory/armory space with you wherever you go.

They're looking for a website aka something you can try on any piece of gear on any race/gender.

For the question, yes there is but I can't recall what it was and it was extremely terrible and very sluggish, not worth using. Not sure if another one has come out or not.

The last website I saw was far from comprehensive. You could search on something like xivdb.com, but it's not exactly got any of the dressing features you'd want.

There is a workaround for this. When you try on a piece, it shows up in your chat log(something like "you try on skalla robe of casting") with a linkable item name. So in addition to your option to save the current outfit and add pieces to it from your collection, if your chat isnt too spammy you can use the log to flip back and forth between items you tried on at the board while youre at the armoire(or vice versa). Not perfect, but its something.

Wait you can try on stuff from the market board? I'll have to experiment with that later. I feel like without a good system in place I'm gonna spend a ton of money on things only to realize it doesn't even look good together lol

You can try on anything that you can select in a menu, prettymuch. Marketboard, NPC shops, quest rewards, other players' equipped gear, things that dropped in dungeons but you didn't win...

Worth noting, if item A is glamoured as item B and you try it on, you'll see item B but the chat log will say "you try on item A". If you then try it on a second time by highlighting that chat log note, you'll see item A. (Useful for when you've glamoured something and want to check what it originally looked like!)
