Soul survivor: If you had to pick one..

    Which rework, would you choose?

    1. Soul survivor remains the same. But it's cooldown resets on kill. So if used correctly, every time something dies you get around 10k hp back and enough mp for a dark arts or TBN.

    or

    2. 3% damage vulnerability debuff on enemy target for 15 seconds. Cooldown remains at 120 secs.

    of course the vulnerability debuff.

the heal is nearly useless in endgame fights and for trash i have enough mana and heal thanks to blood price, quietus and abyssal drain.

not to mention the button spam to put sole survivor on every dying mob in a trash pack (between the already spammy dark arts and TBN. i don't really need MORE off-GCDs to press every few seconds xD).

First option is overpowered in dungeons. Combined with DRK's self healing capabilities and this, a skilled DRK will never need a heal once mobs get low on HP

Second option is what this game revolves around, party utility. Of course I'd go with that option myself.

If I had to choose, it would be the first.

Dark Knight doesn't need party utility like the second option, that is completely counter intuitive to it's identity. Dark Knight's skills should be selfish and revolve around making it so that the Dark Knight can outlast their opponent till either their foe or they them-self drop dead.

Reprisal and Low Blow were perfect in this way and were part of the basis of Dark Knight's former identity. They both benefited a Dark Knight and the party, rather than just being a thoughtless "I press this because it's required of me,"button —which we shouldn't be encouraging at all if we want even remotely interesting game-play from the jobs.

I would go with the second option and increase it to 5%

I think both ideas are cool but you may as well only have one option.
If you’re going to make people choose between utility or damage they’re going to choose damage every time. Utility in ffxiv is worthless if it doesn’t increase damage output.

I'd turn it into something like mercy stroke so it does damage and is only usable under 20% with a 200 potency.

utility is a bandaid to fix a larger wound, not a solution.
