    Leveling Alt Jobs

    Hail and well met, all,

I have some questions regarding leveling alt jobs after the MSQ is done.

I’ve read all the stuff about PoTD, etc, but is there an efficient way to level, from Lv 1’ish, alt jobs without relying on PoTD; maybe occasional usage? I don’t necessarily care about the fastest, I’m just hoping there’s some way that’s more efficient, and faster, than simply grinding mobs.

Is it just side quests and Hunt Logs? Do Hunt Logs continue after you’ve taken an actual job, (after Lv 30)? Are these things enough to take you to cap?

Once the MSQ is done, and you’re level 60, (or 50), is there a way to level and reach cap without relying on random PUG dungeons? Or is everything after Lv 50/60 simply dungeon grinding? Is there no solo content; efficient solo content?

I’d really like to avoid reliance on dungeons, and forced grouping.

Anyway, just trying to find out what my options are after the MSQ is gone, other than PoTD.

Thanks for your time and help.

Honestly no. The biggest chunk of XP a day you can get is from your leveling roulette (dungeon)
After roulettes If youre looking for non-group content, fates, hunt logs and side quests (though most don't give much at all).

I guess maybe squadron dungeons you could look into, but the best xp really comes from dungeons and potd.

Or you can buy job jump potions.

Unfortunately, this is an MMO so group content will always be required in some form.

Hunt book with chocobo while you wait for queue, starting your own party, alternate with a friend tanking dungeons, weekly challenge logs, fate grinding parties, hmmmm palace is still the fastest and can build lights for achievements and don't have to worry about gear that way.. while Jump potions are an option and limited you will lack the experience from playing the job...

Thank you both, (or all by the time I post this, LOL).

My issue with dungeons/grouping is this:

Due to limited play time, DPS queues are killing me.

Due to Dbag players spewing vitriol on healers/tanks when a death/wipe is the DPS’ fault, is killing me.

And judging by the Healer Horror stories thread in the Healer Role forums, this is still alive and thriving here in FFXIV. Been dealing with this for 20 years of MMO gaming as a Healer and Tank, and just don’t want to do so anymore.

I guess the answer to that is find a good FC, and at some point, when I feel better about my ability to contribute, I probably will.

Well, I guess I’ll just keep on keeping on and see where I end up

I totally understand where you are coming from. And yes, finding a good friendly FC will help your leveling pains immensely! Or even at least one other friend to run stuff with to help your queues. I get the dps queues are horrid and always have been. If you were on my server I'd offer the FC I'm in, but since you are not all I can do is offer my aid if you ever want to do a cross world dungeon party.

Like some would say and what I did at times, do the solo stuff while waiting for that killer long DPS queue, like clan hunts, challenge logs, and fates. I’m not sure if you can do levequests while you are in queue, can’t remember.

I'm leveling all my jobs equally, it has its drawbacks but It fits my playstyle and how I collect/distribute earning experience

The problem, for me, with DPS queues isn't the wait in and of itself... it's that I only have about 30 min to play on weekdays, so I have to wait for weekend mornings... I play 8am - 11am. Most people are still drooling on their pillows at that time on a Sat or Sun, LOL.

I do think finding a good PATIENT FC will help a lot. Going to start looking after having another week under my belt. I just want to get a bit more acclimated to the game, UI, and controller use first before burdening an FC with my stumbling about

Thanks again all... it'll work out I'm sure.

I'm also new with a similar limited play schedule, i also held off to try and familiarize myself with the game. Found an FC, they've been very welcoming and helpful with my fumbling. not too large, not too small.

Squadron dungeons are amazing for levels 1-50. You get one level per run basically. After 50 the reward is much less, so it is not worth it for leveling purposes.
