I couldn't find an appropriate thread, but I wanted to show the Valentione Cake I attempted to do for a recent birthday. I didn't let the white chocolate cool down enough before decorating the hearts, so the first hearts came out pretty disappointing - I did get enough nice hearts for the center piece on top of the cake though. I also messed up the whipped cream on top, I should have done that before placing the rest of the decorations. Also, gold dust food colouring should either be applied with a brush or blown on very carefully.
The decoration is made from coloured marzipan, the cake itself is a chocolate sponge cake with a thin covering of nougat, filled with almond-marzipan-custard buttercreme and topped with whipped Ganache.
