I haven't seen a debit card without, even from a local bank since the late 90's...
I assume the Visa/MasterCard Logo, on a debit card if it has one, goes hand in hand with the CCV though.
It's pretty common here in Belgium and I'm also assuming the rest of Europe. We just pay for stuff at the counter with our regular bankcard. I even went to my bank once to ask for a debit card that works like a credit card (for small online purchases without the risk of the account being overdrawn), but it wasn't even an option they could provide!
Right now I'm buying Crysta through UltimatePay with my regular bankcard and don't really understand why people are making such a fuss this opton;

I think canada and an european maestro card are the only ones that still don't allow you to use your debit card as a normal credit card, and if that is the case then you are stuck, it is the same as anything you buy directly online except stuff like paypal, they ask for your security code.
You're not stuck if you use online banking with your regular bankcard. You just have to use UltimatePay as an adapter between Se's Crysta and your own online bank service.

well stuck in trying to use the direct payment.
Visa Electron should have it. If you make sure to select Visa Electron rather than Visa in the card type selection, then proceed, there will be a hyperlinked question saying "what is the security code?" that will bring up pictures showing where to look on your card.
As far as I am aware, Visa, Amex and Mastercard have had these security codes in place for over a decade worldwide. Online payment systems worldwide regularly require this code to authenticate purchases. If you don't have it, you either don't have a legitimate credit/debit card and/or I would be talking to your bank, like yesterday, about a possibly fraudulent card.
There isn't a option for visa electrum at the SE website. Only visa ,master, ex, maestro.
Interesting that it lists Maestro as an option for you...
Then it is now time to see how much this new system differs by region. Here is how it looks for me:
Everyone, please compare. We should get to the bottom of this.
