Um, no they don't. It's not common. The ccv code normally only applies to credit cards.

I know in Canada some banks still just give out plain debit cards.

Isn't that the norm? Debit started in Ottawa, I don't see how we could be behind the times lol x.x Do americans have chip cards?

I haven't seen a debit card without, even from a local bank since the late 90's...

I assume the Visa/MasterCard Logo, on a debit card if it has one, goes hand in hand with the CCV though.

It's pretty common here in Belgium and I'm also assuming the rest of Europe. We just pay for stuff at the counter with our regular bankcard. I even went to my bank once to ask for a debit card that works like a credit card (for small online purchases without the risk of the account being overdrawn), but it wasn't even an option they could provide!

Right now I'm buying Crysta through UltimatePay with my regular bankcard and don't really understand why people are making such a fuss this opton;

That is what I said < <;;; unless I worded it wrong, I buy everything here in the US with my debit card pretty much.

To OP are you sure you don't just have an ordinary bank card? That's not a debit card.

Ah!!! Noir, you may have a pure debit card. You may need to contact your bank and apply for a Debit card that can double as a credit card.

Yep guessing it's most likely this. Didn't even know bank still offered plain bank card without master/visa option to use as credit.
