First Person View see Weapon in front of you

I have a friend who only plays games in first person view. I guess he use to play EQ that way. It's possible to play FFXIV in first person however it is somewhat difficult to tell if your weapon is out. There is anicon on the action bar, but you do not see the weapon swing. Can you add an animation for the weapon in first person view? It looks like in first person your entire character disappears. maybe don't have it hide the weapon? I'm not sure if that would be enough.

You're right! It seemed like something wasn't there.

I may take a look into this to see if the following are true:
1) Shield raises when blocking.
2) Weapon flips out to parry an attack.
3) A sense of successful evasion.
4) Spell animations seen when casting.
5) Food going into my mouth (and thus my belleh).

I'm also curious how many players currently play in first-person?
