Tell me I’m not the only one....

I know this has probably been said a million times, but I’m genuinely curious of others’ experiences with rude people in dungeons. I’m a healer (for reference) It often seems as though one little mistake can cause excessive ridicule and yelling NOOB, with no further instruction; just bashing.. Just hoping I’m not the only one experiencing this and hopefully it ends up getting better with time. Anyone else every had an experience with a rude DF team mate? I know I make some mistakes (still learning!) and I will totally own up to those and accept any pointers/instruction I can get. But I feel as though I do my best and other players rarely die while I’m healing. Idk just rambling a bit I guess!

If you get a large enough group of people together, you are basically guaranteed that some jerks will be among them. Add in the anonymity of the internet and a pseudonym, and some jerks will really go to town. Sorry you had to deal with some. My experience is that most people will give newer players some slack for screw ups(minor or major), so hopefully this doesnt become a recurring problem for you. Over on the "General" forum theres a 1500+ page thread thats about 2 and a half years old about basically this. People share their bad/funny stories to vent, share some good stories to keep up spirits, and encourage each other(mostly - you also see the odd troll pop up from time to time). The many people who read and regularly post to the thread also offer advice to people who ask for it(and for some who clearly need it based on their stories). It might be cathartic to read a couple pages and see that many people have similar experiences, or if you wanted you could add your own story.

I'm sorry for the foul experience but sadly as stated above, you will encounter bad eggs even if you are doing everything right. I won't say this in an effort to inflate a healer's ego but consider this - your job is on demand often and your dungeon pops are fast if not instant, you can leave a dungeon if the party is treating you poorly (that doesn't count if it was a constructive criticism), and it will be their loss, not yours. It's an MMO game and it should be fun, not stressing.

I feel with you Bealynng. Unfortunately you will meet toxic people here and there. Dont let them discourage you from this awesome game. If they dont have any constructive criticism then just ignore them.

If you are sensitive and your mood is terrybad from that then take a break for few minutes. (My personal experience )

And as Frizze said there is thread Tales from Duty Finder. I suggest you read it. You may learn something from it but you will probably laugh more often

Mainly my experience with multiple rude people has been in 8-24 person dungeons, with 24 topping the list. It is not people on my server either but 2 or 3 of the what I call the "Dbag" servers. The Dbag factor here did go up however, when free server transfers opened up. This used to be an awesome server. Just ignore and BL as you can.

Had to deal with plenty of jerks, in every MMO. I've also had a lot of wonderful people as well. Don't let them get to you.

I've been lucky. I haven't run across that many mean people. In fact, a lot of the folks are downright reasonable. Tonight I got thrown into a Bardam's Mettle on my whm and I admit I was a bit undergeared for it. I couldn't keep the tank alive through a really big pull and she just said, "Ok, can't handle that. Apologies," and proceeded to do normal, leveling pulls.

That's not to say there aren't jerks and I'm sorry you came across them. There's a lot of good folks here too.
