I think it would be cool if lalafell kids formed an FC and were like the star onions from XI. Side quests with them like Hildebrand?

Well, lore wise Hildibrand and the Scholaisate quests fill a similar niche that the S.O.Bs did in FFXI, so I don't see them appearing here I'm afraid (the whole lore reason they were formed in FFXI was because the children of Windurst believed Nanaa Mihgo's criminal activity was being ignored by the adults of the Federation and so decided to take matters into their own hands, waging a constant prank war against her and her cronies (and nearly inadvertently blowing open Windurst's dirty little secrets about the price the Federation paid for their own survival during the Crystal War in the process), not realizing just how dangerous she really was (one scene where they cornered her she pretty much insinuated she was willing, and fully capable of, killing them all remorselessly, not caring they were just children).

Despite the humorous antics (such as the constant easy puns to their name's abbreviation), their storyline was rather dark so I don't see it having a good fit here, especially as part of the Windurst main scenario involved them.

Having said that, in FFXIV 1.0 there were a group of kids in Gridania that seemed to have a similar, albeit looser, organization to the S.O.Bs but apart from Nicoliaux, they seem to have mostly scattered since the Calamity unfortunately so sadly I don't see even them being the S.O.Bs' Hydaelyn equivalent.

There somewhat is something like this, it's linked to a few quests in Yanxia if I'm not mistaken. They're a group of kids in Mhor Dona. It starts with the person closest to where you get the Ironworks gear from(across the street from it beside the gate in fact).

They can easily make a different lore/quest line for the star onions. It doesn't have to mimic XI.
