How about letting us choose for Lord or lady bring back steal for a instant cast 140 potency
Isn't Stella just break?



Stella was, sadly, better than Break. That's how awful Break is. Stella was trash yet Break is worse.
Stella wasn't an instant cast originally, but if they changed it to not require a cast time it might be okay. Stella was originally 100 potency with a 40% Heavy. Break is literally half that at 50 potency and 20% Heavy.

Not that I wouldn't welcome an instant spell, but doesn't adding in more attacks sorta undermine their job concept. They are supposed to be the buffers who strengthen their allies more than themselves. AST by default is supposed to have less attack power.
I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

Like AbyssArray explain it. It is not the goal to increase the dmg of the Astro. That happend if this "stella" would make more than 100 DP. The goal is to have a spell/heal that cost less and is instand.



It's not about increasing damage (for me, at least) - it's about making the two oGCDs of "Draw" and "Spread/RR/Minor Arcana" a bit more fluid to use. Previously when ASTs could cross-class Aero you would typically Combust, Draw, Aero, do-whatever-with-your-Draw-result. Now, you Combust, Draw, do-whatever-with-your-card, Malefic III which has the "do whatever with your card" action clip with the GCD (Malefic III is ready to be used while you're still animation-locked fussing with cards).
Not only that, but on a personal level only having two damaging spells that we're using at any given time (only one if it's AOE!) is pretty dull and having an extra spell to weave in would break up the monotony. That's less a usability issue though and more a personal one.
Would it buff the damage? In the right hands yes but the point here is to make it feel more fluid and enjoyable. It feels awful to me when I don't have my gcd rolling at all times no matter what job I play. Nerfing Malefic's or Combust's damage would work if the numbers started to look too high for the "buffer" class as you say.
Though I for one think AST could maybe even use a slight damage buff considering it's a lot more difficult to play optimally than take WHM for example but that's another topic entirely.


We don't want more damage on AST.
We got the idea of "if you buff, you do less", that's not the prob.
We just want a smoother gameplay.
Too many oGCD to weave. A simple insta cast with a weak potency would just be enough. That's just a small QoL. We won't cry if they don't add it. But it they do, we'll definitly be really happy.
So we hope that request could be heard.
If they are afraid about adding another button, they could make Malefic III be a 2s cast instead of 2,5. That would still be a nice little change compare to now.
