I do not understand why people complain about Eureka. I personally enjoy it and I am only level 15. It seems the people that are hating on it are the ones that got to level 20 within a couple days of it releasing. If it was easy/convenient everyone would have the Eureka 5-slot gear/weapon. I am happy I will be receiving less fireworks though!
I don't hate it, I just think is was haphazardly put together with zero forethought. I like the fact it was easy for me to get relic stuff and mendacity tomes. I do not like the fact I cannot solo with my choco and I do not like the leeches that stand on rocks/branches/around corners and on mounts (this includes you L 17s+), while the rest of us kill for them. I do HATE it that you lose xp if you die and nobody can/will rez you. This is BS and a big reason ppl just stand around in safe areas during fights..I do not understand why people complain about Eureka. I personally enjoy it and I am only level 15. I hate it for the reasons Besame mentioned above, as a Game Dev myself there are numerous flaws I can and have pointed out, and even more numerous ways to have gone about it to not make it as miserable an experience. The Eurekan Gear Is by no means desirable as it is now as well, the ilvl is simply too low to be worthwhile and while the slots are nice that doesn't negate this fact. The only reason it's desirable at all is for the potential upgrades it will get in the future, and for people who like the glamours.
And in fact it could be said that is what Eureka's main purpose is, glamour items and general apparel. The grind is, in comparison to previous relic weapons, short. But it lacks much more than it provides, and if you take a look around the forums and read other threads and posts perhaps you will see why (specifically my threads where I generally do comparisons between the mode and what it could be, or my Maple Story post where I explain why the grind is inferior to a 15 year old game's grind).
I use Eureka to fill in gear where I didn't have 360s yet. It is also a really easy way to get mendacity tomes. atm, I am using mendacity to fill right side gear that I crafted 350hq greens for so it works for me. I am just waiting for the next gear upgrade in Eureka and hope the grind is a little more fun.

"Fanboy is gaming jargon used to describe an individual that has gone beyond the point of being a PC or console game fan and, during online chats or discussions, shifts to defend the program at all costs, unable to take any criticism or acknowledge any shortcomings of the game or gaming console."
I have to disagree; similar to the light grind steps of previous relics it may be possible to finish it in a few days, but only if you dedicate significant chunks of time purely to the grind... this is in comparison to other steps, which may have taken longer in terms of real time days, but could at least be progressed in small but significant increments, and / or while doing other activities (e.g. natural accumulation of tomes with roulettes, drops from maps, etc.)*.
I also believe the grind will only get worse over time (though I am expecting a nerf at some point). i.e. With Eureka being a dedicated activity, once the population begins to decline the grind will only get longer and more difficult (to the point of practical impossibility if less than a critical mass is participating in it (same problem as Diadem!)).
No, if this is ever to be considered a 'good' relic step (regardless of length) then either there needs to be a way to make noteworthy progress over time in short bursts (e.g. daily / weekly quests), or materials need to be available in sufficient quantities outside of Eureka (e.g. purchasable with tomes and / or other currencies).
* And yes, I am partially referring to the ‘Unidentified X’ step of the HW relic, which obviously took far too long to complete, but in terms of how it could be completed, was one of the best steps yet.
As to the changes, Band-Aid is a good way of putting it, and a lot more is needed...
Not sure about crystal drops, but from some testing I did a few days ago compared with today (though I don't remember precise numbers):
At level 1, XP has gone from about 25XP base per kill to about 50XP base per kill while solo.
However, at level 7, XP has gone from about 80XP base per kill to about 87XP base per kill while solo (on Sea Bishops).
They have upped the 5/10/15 etc. chain bonus; 5 is now +50% XP and 10 is now +200% XP (gave up after that ...)
So yeah, it's a bit better at lower levels, but almost the same as it was by level 7, and I wouldn't be surprised if any increase in crystals drop rates (which they didn’t mention) was similar; i.e. still nowhere near what it needs to be for chaining mobs to be practical.
