I'm not too sure how accurate this post still is, but I generally like to stack up on Control first, then branch out to the other two, based on what I think the recipe might be.

    Q. What do the crafter-related attributes Craftsmanship, Magic Craftsmanhip, and Control each do?
    A. Among recipes in the game, there are those for which the rate of progress and chance of success are increased by higher Craftsmanship, and those for which they are determined by Magic Craftsmanship. Control helps to reduce the occurrence of aetherial sparking (see below), and exerts its influence over both types of recipes just mentioned.
All recipes, however, have set attribute requirements. Attempting a recipe with attributes below those required will result in lessened progress and quality, even for successful actions.

Craftsmanship, Magic Craftsmanship: Improves success rate of synth attempts. Which stat is used depends on the recipe being crafted.

Control: Lowers the chance of elemental sparking, which is a detrimental condition when an element becomes unstable, or when Touching Up.

"Especially these three"? Those three *are* the crafting attributes, there aren't any others.

I thought craftsmanship was for getting quality up faster and control was to fail less?

This was what people thought waaaay back when the game was first released. A few months after release the devs stated exactly what Conradus and Fiosha said. The popup help when you mouse over Craftsmanship/M. Craftsmanship/Control also say as much.
