Except Ultimecia has several forms.I feel like this is the most important theme they have going on that will influence what the possibilities for the next group are. The only ones who really fit the bill are Sephiroth and Zeromus.
They could maybe force Garland/Chaos to work, but I think it's less likely for other reasons. II, VIII, IX, X, XII, XIII...none of those games have a final boss with another form, though at least a couple have the somewhat different "final boss from nowhere" going on instead. III has all that plus the Cloud of Darkness and all its sub-bosses have already been used, which may end up being an extra point against XII too. XI did have multiple final bosses with second forms, but again I feel doubtful they'd use it for this.
Or maybe we'll get a mega long fight with only Omega but taking the form of 4 or 5 different bosses from the series during said fight ?
That would be quite a challenge
People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.
Player
Well... If Omega is the final boss who care about the second form of the 3 other stage since they won't have any.
I'd love a Chaos, Emperor and Zeromus for O9, O10 and O11.
Just think about the epicness of this... four "Classic final boss thème" in a row for the final showdown !
Ultimecia, Kuja or Necron and Yunalesca or jecht won't be too disapointing either... To be fair anything but VII.
Love this game, but sick of it.

Someone mentioned wanting to fight Bhunivelze.
Let's talk about how that would likely not work out.
First, Bhunivelze was able to create an entire universe from nothing, heck, he's the guy who created the guys who created the original universe.
And it is a lot easier to tear something down than it is to build it up in the first place, which is acknowledged as Lightning believes it would be easy for him to destroy it all.
Secondly, the way he was beaten.
First he goes several rounds with Lightning, who at this point is a literal God Of Death who has been imbued with a portion of Bhunivelzes own power.
Then the souls of everything that lives or ever has lived through the entirety of the universe gangs up on him, pulling what is basically a Universal Spirit Bomb shaped into a Piercing attack, with all that power going into a single point in his midsection.
This is in addition to Bhunivelze having a Type-Weakness against Chaos, which all souls contain a portion of, making the attack even more effective (Bhunivelze is basically the Demiurge, an evil pretender God with Complete and Absolute power over the physical realm, but is severely lacking in the spiritual, which proves his undoing)
Then he gets knocked back into the center of the Chaos-powered universe eating black hole, culminating in the entire flipping universe collapsing on top of him in a Big Crunch.
And that didn't even kill him, just left him in a coma, with the possibility he might wake up one day.
Now, the Warrior Of Light is powerful and all, but trying to fight that?
Ummmm....how?
That's more like an Ultimate fight though.Or maybe we'll get a mega long fight with only Omega but taking the form of 4 or 5 different bosses from the series during said fight ?
That would be quite a challenge
