    Any update on FFXIV Coming to Xbox One? It's been a long time...

    Just curious, the last we heard from Yoshi-P about this was back at FanFest, and the updates where that talks were still progressing... Anyway, crossing my fingers for this option. I love my PC build, but I have friends who would love to join and play and all they have is an Xbox. :S

    Probably not, if nothing has been said yet. They are probably having trouble getting terms they like, I.E. no LIVE Gold account required, and no separate servers for LIVE players (this was one of Microsoft's conditions listed in their cross-play announcement, that LIVE players would always have the option to only play with other LIVE players.)

    As soon as Microsoft allow FFXIV to be played without being part of their Live Subscription, that's essentially what is holding it back. Silly that it can do PC/PS4 cross play but not with Xbox sn't it.

    The developers already said that they would do Xbox as soon as Microsoft agrees to make it playable without an XBOX Gold subscription and be able to play on the same servers as Playstation and PC players (as they already do now).

    FFXI didn't hit the xbox 360 until its 3rd expansion came out and SE actually dropped support for that console if I remember right a few years later.

    I think it had to do with all the red tape and hoops Microsoft required in order to allow users to log in through xbl. If this was the case and nothing has changed then I would say not to expect a client launch on xbox one.
