Also not all furniture should have buffs , only rare ones.
This is an interesting topic. I've wondered how far the devs would go with furniture. There's plenty of possibility in there, but I'm kind of doubtful that they'll add a myriad of different furniture options and colors and things. Though it would be nice.
I'm pretty sure that all initial furniture will be wooden and what-have-you, given what we see around the Carpenter's Guild. It would be nice to have other things beside the usual dressers, chairs, tables, and beds in the room. I'd actually like to have extra customization options for a room. I hope that they'll have multiple options (and colors) for furniture items and all that. It would give crafters extra things to sell and generate a new market of sorts.
The few things I would like to see, personally, are:
- Guild Company guidons to hang in the room.
- Treasure Chests for extra storage.
- Greenery/Flowers.
- Decoration items from Guilds (such as the decorative bows and things in Quiver's Hold, or other things from Stillglade Fane and other guilds.)
- Novelty furniture items from events (Christmas ornaments, Easter baskets, other event items.)
- Beastiary Plushes (made by weavers. Plushes could be like small versions of chocobos, ewes, elementals, marmots, moogles, etc.)
- Special decorative items (such as Banners from "The Raven" or "The Mythril Eye" or iconic items of The Twelve so that people can show the Guardian that they chose.)
And these are just a few of the options that I had floating around in my mind. But rooms could be a lot more than just run in and run out. There are chances to learn a lot about a player just by looking around their room. With the option of different furniture styles as well as different color options and a plethora of decorations, there could be a large number of ways for each room to look different.
I just know that it's a lot of work for the devs to create all of that type of stuff, but it would be super awesome if we had the choice to decorate our room outside of the same furniture in every one of them.
Edit: Hah, Buttons beat me to some of my own suggestions!

Well... "Common" sense isn't all that common anymore, now is it?
actually based off what someone said earlier it wouldn't be a bad idea to have like a stationery kitchen, work table, sewing machine in your house for crafting. maybe they could have specific stats that differentiate them from regular tools (increased yield, lower HQ) etc.

Changing wall color
Depending on you house size and architecture you next x amount of multi purpose dye to paint a wall.
Glass mosaics to hang on walls, like the ones in te adv. Guild or leve cards
how 'bout a bathroom.
I don't think we get a furniture with 1.21
We get Inn rooms, not private houses
Don't ask me what we can do in an Inn room ^^
Dude... this is a room for imagination not fact.I know there is a slim chance we get furniture, I just wanted to get ppl to get creative and have some fun.
