The story is far from being good or well told. It's essentially a constant vomit of text ; most cut-scenes are just bad, characterization is nearly inexistent, gameplay is a foreign concept, "show, don't tell" has been thrown out of the window, etc.
The stupid plot points like "she's wasn't actually dead" or "throw the eyes overboard" are just cherry on top.

The context was, as in story of MMORPG, otherwise you are not wrong

No, you are just looking for a fight.

    I'll rephrase for you:

Wow that's a pretty game, too bad the gameplay is atrocious, guess I'm just going to use some cheat codes, because the gameplay is garbage. /s

Wow that's an ugly game, but the gameplay is awesome, everyone should just skip the cutscenes because they are garbage. /s

This game has some of the best worldbuilding and lore, too bad it's cutscenes drag on and on and on. /s

I love this game's story, too bad the multiplayer is trash, I hope they make every storyline part solo. /s

Like, if you don't like the game, quit it. Period. You would not be here if it does not minimally appeal to you to spend time on it. If Square-Enix wants to attract more players like you, who do not like some core aspect, they are not going to do so by changing nothing. There are people who play games entirely to do the achievements, and care nothing for the game content itself. Thank Microsoft for that, now everything is a competition.

That's why the games tend to slide towards becoming easier over time. If you nerf the gameplay down to "press x to win" QTE's, then everyone can play and enjoy the storyline, but the people who liked the game before will be outraged and leave. The gameplay is always the first thing that gets nerfed to make it have a broader appeal.

Who spends the most money in a subscription game? The people who buy all the retainers. Yet there really is very little for crafters to do in the game because whatever you can craft is obsolete by whatever comes out of the 8-man and 24-man raids.

No one is picking a fight. You started the conversation saying:

That's rather narrow-sighted, and it got called out. Your latest comment is stating:

This is much more reasonable and I think most people would agree with it. I personally hate XIV's story, and skip almost all of it. However, I'm still around as I find other things enjoyable. That's the joy of an MMO. It's designed to appeal to many different people with a variety of tastes.

That's fine, you don't have to like all of the game, if you are still having fun. Some people here complain non-stop about trivial things that make it not-WoW, or not-someothergame.

I actually rather enjoyed the storyline, what I don't like is the game's internal economy. Let's see, either I can spend all day grinding out tomes for the "almost good" gear, or I can spend as much time playing the raids, for equivalent gear, or I can spend a butt load of time crafting to produce gear that doesn't come close to the tomes/raid gear. Likewise, when they added the cracked clusters to the roulette's, now there's no point in doing anything to produce materia, the market is drowned in V and VI materia.

I'm still waiting for SE to produce a roulette for Coil/Alexander/Omega. Once that content is stale, nobody does it at all, as there's no reward they can use.

    snip - bad examples
I am not looking for a fight. I am an proponent of discussion. What I do is look for good posts to respond to and bad posts to correct. In your case specifically, you made an egregious statement riddled with incredibly juvenile assessments that directly contradict yourself without you even realizing it.

I can like a game, for instance FF14, but still have NUMEROUS issues with it. That doesn't mean I should quit. It's called feedback and criticism, both of which are incredibly healthy and valuable to a game.

You're more than welcome to debate the QUALITY of my criticism with good examples and solid insight, but to say anyone should quit because they have issues with a game is incredibly antagonistic. I'd even go as far as to argue it's a bigger display of "jerk behavior" as you put it, than anything anyone has said to you. It's dismissive and disrespectful.
