honestly...it is because I get bored af in business class, and since we do spreadsheets a lot....making ffxiv sheets would not seem like anything "not class related." I also really like organizing stuff.If spreadsheets are how your mind works best, go for it. But if you're only doing this for a lack of existing tools, I would like to point out that there are existing tools.
minionguide.com provides a checklist of minions and mounts, looks at your lodestone profile, and marks off all the ones you have. You can click any minion or mount to learn what you need to do to obtain it.
garlandtools.org lets you create a list of items you want to craft, then tells you all the base materials you need to hunt, gather, or buy; lets you choose whether you'd like to gather or buy materials when multiple sources exist; lists what intermediate materials you have to craft; and provides a checklist that tracks not only what you have at the moment but also what you can currently make with what you have.
