Can't Post / Diremite Web problem

So, anyone know why I can't post? I'm a returning player. The character I'm playing now has a level 32 DRG and 8 classes at level 25+

My character on my old server has a few jobs at 60 (ARR max).

So what's going on with that?

I wanted to make a post pointing out the problem with diremite webs.... specifically that diremites do not have webs. It may seem trivial to some, but that sort of error gets really frustrating. I spent way too damn long killing diremites for webs, which it turns out they don't even have/drop

I have gotten many diremite webs from diremites. Does take a while though....Seems to be a lowish drop.

And can you not post in a certain forum area? If you are trying to post on the forums but it won't let you in general, you may have to wait a little. If you don;t play for 14 days I think, you can not post until you relog into the game. It then takes a few hours for you to be able to post on the forums again.

My experience has been that the drop rate was massively increased way back when, after too many players trying to farm at once would make it near impossible. All my collecting has been incredibly fast. Can only suspect you're either after the wrong enemy (with possibly a lower drop rate) or you somehow didn't notice a full inventory.

In regards to being unable to post, it's due to your current in game level for the character you currently have associated to this forum account not being high enough (according to the character info under your avatar it says you're only a level 24 ARC) - there are posting restrictions on this forum based on your character's level in game, level 50 is necessary to have the most unrestricted access to the forum, as stated in this official thread.

If you have another character that is much higher than that, then you need to change the character associated with the forum account, and/or the class/Job associated with that character, which can be done by clicking the 'Settings' link at the top right hand corner of the page (next to the blue 'Logout' button), then selecting 'Edit Character' from the list of options on the left, and then selecting a desired character from the list of characters that are active on that account (the one currently associated will be at the top of the list and listed as 'Your Current Main Character', and in the list of characters, the current one will have a yellow star on it's avatar and the others will be greyed out). To change the character, click on the avatar of the character you wish to switch to, it should now be in colour and have a yellow star on it's avatar.

Additionally, to change that character's class, there are three drop down menu buttons underneath each character's tab, with the left-most class option being the one that will be 'associated' with that character as far as the forum is concerned (and thus dictates your posting restrictions). So it's preferable to associate a class or Job that is at least level 50 or higher to it so you have the least possible restrictions. Then when you're done click 'Save Settings' at the bottom of the page to confirm.

The lower the mites level is, the lower the drop rate(down to 0 if im not mistaken). Try the ones in the north shroud just to the west of the aetheryte(the higher level part - toward CCH).

Diremites (that is, the type specifically labelled "Diremite", found around Lv10 in the Central Shroud) do not seem to drop Diremite Webs, but that's also the general name for that type of enemy, and higher level diremites do drop the webs. Banemites seem to be the actual primary source - and you do encounter them at around the same level that weaver starts needing them for crafting. (Not that you're actually that likely to be keeping your crafters leveled equal with your MSQ/battle classes, but it does seem to be the game logic for most enemy drops.)

But yes, I spent quite a while fighting Diremites for webs without any luck.

Do players normally not do this? Because of course it makes the most sense. The gear you can make, from the materials you can gather, is relevant to classes at those levels. If you don't keep things balanced, you just end up holding onto even more junk that you might need over a wider level spread. But maybe that's just me.

I didn't because I had no interest in crafters(still don't really), but the completionist in me wants everything maxed out(still working on getting all but CUL to 70, and getting geared/crafting books). The main reason I started leveling them was in hopes one day I would get a house, and since I finally got one, I'm starting to level them a bit more actively just to be able to craft my own housing items.

The main source for diremite webs for me is via my retainers. A DoW / DoM retainer can bring back 30 webs per venture. Alternatively, just buy the velveteen silk from the sylph beastman vendor. So no, you won't see people farming them.
