I like things to be compact.

The very bottom hotbar's hotkeys are 1 to 7, middle mouse button, Z, X, and two buttons I have on the side of my mouse.
The next two hotbars are all the same hotkeys, but Ctrl and Shift respectively.

My rotation always goes in 1-7, but I use 7 rarely and 6 is reserved for things used less often. I should probably move acceleration, but I'm just so used to it there that I'd mess myself up.
On Z and X, I put utility, buffs, or anything fitting that general description.
On middle mouse button, I always have my potion as ctrl, my duty action as shift, and the last slot is reserved for a cooldown that's more conditional in use, such as manafication.
On my side mouse buttons, I like putting damaging OGCD abilities.

With my hotbar structured this way, I find it super easy to preform my rotation, because I have my left hand completing the rotation and moving to the next skill while my right hand is doing most of the ogcd weaving. My left pinky is MVP, though, for always hitting ctrl and shift.

I use a control pad and generally aim for the fewest button presses and trigger swaps possible. Got most of my jobs where I can pretty much operate of a single set of buttons plus the expanded hot bar. it does mean I duplicate a lot of skills but works well.

    Sam

As you can see sets 1 and 2 are virtually identical the only real difference is the gyoten enpi and such are swapped with my aoe skills. so I rarely ever have to mess around changing sets. and don't really change triggers that often either. With this layout I can do my whole opener without swapping sets or triggers. Prime example of fluidity

    Paladin

Same Kinda thing done here. Outside of maybe a couble of savage blade combo's at the start of a fight I can generally jump to set 1 and stay there for an entire fight... all my buffs and cooldowns are quickly accessible on the expanded bar.

    Warrior

Again you can see the same kinda layout. done to minimise triggers in warriors case I don't even need a second set of buttons.

Most of my jobs are set up in a similar fashion as much as possible. It allows a decent flow of play without having to swap sets and triggers all the time. the less button presses the better.

The vertical hotbars on the left of my cross hotbars are just for cooldowns so I can see at a glance how long the recast is on guren or rampart or triple cast, and various other things depending on what job I'm on.

I'm a pure cross hotbar user because health issues can often put me in a spot where I can't sit up for mouse and keyboard. I'm just going to post my main job's. The top 3 on the right change for my jobs, the rest are universal. I try to put my most vital skills on my top combat hotbar. Since I only play casters I usually switch to the others while I'm casting to go over my options really quick so I can plan my next action once the cast is done. Like while adlo-ing the tank I'll check the monster's cast and like switch to SET 2 and get ready to put down sacred soil for a room ride aoe as soon as the adlo is done. Four is my main food, items, LB, a follow macro that's mostly for maps, a warning macro, SMN/SCH stuff. Left set is like social, travel, and interface stuff.

They are aligned with my left hand resting on wasd and then two sets of the g600 mmo mouse layout.
The little bits on the far right are just click items when I need them. Except for the Alte Roite mount which is alt + right arrow.

Idk how you guys could play like that o.o

On ps4 this is how it looks for my warrior:
Buffs above with increased icon size, macro used so i use only 4 buttons on the top right, and all other actions fitted into the main bars.

Well try to remember I have a mouse with buttons that look like this.

So having 3 columns in 4 rows on my hotbar lines up perfectly with the mouse.

I have a mouse with a numb pad too. Which makes it a lot easier to hit keys. Also I bound shift to the third row of skills. Along with all my jobs on a bar on the left of my screen. But then again I tend to change my job a lot.
