Eureka - The Time Sink

I'm going to be completely honest, I don't like Eureka because I've already been excluded from it. I'm a student with two jobs, XIV is my main game, with this recent update, because I couldn't devote my life to it, I've fallen too far behind to find a party. I can't just solo level, because that takes hours and hours that I don't have, at least with Savage raids I could schedule a group to run with in the middle of the night, but there's just nothing for this type on content. More and more I feel excluded just because I can't devote my life to the game. Lets start with a comparison to previous content.

Savage Raids in general can be scheduled with a static, I, for instance, have time in the dead of night once I've finished studying and I've compiled my work schedules, I can schedule 2 hours to practice with a raid group during this time, without neglecting school or work. Finding a group could be tough, but it wasn't impossible.

Diadem was absolutely fine with me because it was never the next step in gear progression, I think it had what, maybe one type of gear that was worth it? It was mostly pets or something?

Previous relic quests were mostly time gated to start with, I could do a certain amount of beast tribe quests a day, I could run for a certain amount of tomes per week, I could only gather scrips during certain times, It was a LOT of work, but it was something I could just do alone for the most part, I didn't need a large group of people the same level, because dungeons level sync, I didn't need to worry about following a train without dying, I was just able to run everything on my own time.

Now with Eureka, I'm completely out in the cold, by the time I catch up, running solo, the next step will be out or people will be done running it, the only people I'll find are the ones replaying it for their second or third or fourth class, people that have a TON of time, people that'll outpace me again. I used to be able to have fun trying to run endgame content, but I'm being shut out of it.

If you just try to knock out one or two levels a day you will be done well before the next patch. You don't even need to hit 20, just 19. I got 4 relics the same day as reaching 19, it doesn't require multiple from the bottom up runs like the old relics you just need to be able to get Pazuzu's feather drops which is very fast and easy after hitting 19.

You are not excluded. Join the instance, spam "LFG Fate Train" and participate. They will invite you, regardless of your level.
Yeah it is braindead and you will spend 80% of the time kissing the floor but you level at much better pace compared to grinding.

I agree with Granyala. I'm not a fan at all of Eureka, but right now its very easy to get a train group within moments of joining an instance (in fact parties tend to almost race each other to invite people who are LFG). Even if you have just an hour or two you can make a lot of progress, I've frequently logged an hour of Eureka before work in the mornings.

Even without the fate train you can find chsin groups for low levels in PF all the time.

You'll have to use the train. Fortunately the train is inclusive and low levels can get value out of it. That'll help you get through on what time you have.

But yes, it's pretty suboptimal if you play infrequently.

The real grind is just to hit level 20 and you can take your time for it. Once you reach 19 you're pretty much done already and farming multiple relics is so easy. I live this curve progression for relics. It's somethings past relics haven't had before.

I have 7 relics on one toon and 2 on another with a full set of relic whm armor. This is the easiest relic to date. Don't understand the complaint. The older relics took forever to get just one.

I'd wait before making a comparison.

It's at i355. The grindiest steps in the Anima have always been the ones that put it on par with the raid weapon, 200-210 (Unidentifieds), 230-240 (Umbrite+Sands), 260-270 (Light Farming).

Chances are, the worst step is yet to come.

Even so, this is still the fastest of the "short" grinds. Some people managed to get every single weapon in less than a week. No matter how much they nolifed to achieve that, the fact remains that this has never happened before.
