Lightbulb Request: Increase Glamour Plates to 1 per Job/Class

Hey there! So I have been wondering if it is possible to increase the number of glamour plates from 10 total to 1 per Job/Class so that we can have a glamour plate for every single job/class if we so choose.

I understand that there are limitations to what can be done in regards to the Glamour Dresser system, so here are some compromises I would be okay with on behalf of increasing glamour plates:

    1. Reducing the number of Gear Sets. Right now, there are 42 possible gear sets any player can possibly have per character. I don't know of anyone who is using that many other than for glamour purposes (which can be fixed by turning gear sets into glamour plates)

    2. Keeping the max amount of glamour items storable in the Glamour Dresser to 200. I have actually struggled with filling my glamour dresser to even 170 of 200 slots (though I know many more people may struggle with going over). I just think it would be more prudent to have more plates than more pieces of gear, especially with having access to the Armoire.

    3. For a fee (to be paid in gil upon finalization of a glamour plate relative to the cost of the items in question), include the stock of the Calamity Salvager and the Recompense Officer into the selection of items that can be applied to glamour plates. This will allow people to cut down on whatever is stored in the Dresser that cannot be stored in the Armoire by allowing the glamours of the items to be purchased direct from the salvager for use in the Dresser for Plates, rather than people running to the Salvager/Officer, buying glamours, and storing them in dressers.

    Thank you for your consideration.

    Job specific glam plates

I use universal gathering gear on the body of all 3 of my gatherers, (mine, bot, fisher) and am having fits getting glamours that are different looking and job specific to each to stick when the separate char is swapped to. Is there a trick or is this just the way it is? I have to swap to the one I am going to use and manually open the char screen and open their matching glam plate and click it each time. I have made really cute job specific glam outfits for each and this is a pain. I know it can be done because way back about 8 yrs ago in WoW, their glam switches worked well.

There is a macro I use for every crafter and gatherer that automatically applies the glamour plate after switching to that job. The downside is that it's a macro and can't really be attached to a gearset.

    Code:
    /micon 30 gearset
    /gearset change 30 3
Now, this may look a bit hard to grasp, so I will explain.

"/micon 30 gearset" means that the icon of the macro will be the same as the 30th gearset (in my case, my carpenter, so it will show the icon of my carpenter class).

"/gearset change 30 3" means that it will change to Gearset #30 (again, my Carpenter gearset) with Glamour Plate #3 (in this case, my Carpenter glamour).

    Hope that helps, Besame!

Not exactly. 10 per job/class is way too excessive and, according to my assumptions based on SE's public statements on the subject, unreasonable.

1 per Job/class would be like this:

+09, one for every base combat class (added to a character every time they unlock a new class)
+15, one for every combat job. (added to a character every time they unlock a new job)
+08, one for every crafting class. (added to a character every time they unlock a new class)
+03, one for every gathering class. (added to a character every time they unlock a new class)
    ___________________________________
35 Total Glamour Plates (at MOST)

We could remove the 9 for every base combat class and count the combat jobs as being those, that would still give us 26, which is a surplus of 16 on top of what we have now.

Make the number of glamour plates available to a character equal to the max number of gear sets they've unlocked. That makes it pretty simple. if we've been given a certain number of gear sets in excess of the number of available jobs, then it makes sense that we might want to have glamour sets specific to each of those gear sets.

I would like to see that. While it would be nice to have 1 per job/class at minimum I do believe it's a minimum number. I sometimes like to change my look if I'm going to go swimming or lounging around my house, and it would be awkward to have to change classes to do it.

I would also like to see the ability to tie a glamour set to a gearset so macros or manual changing would not be required if I changed from SAM to BRD to MNK and back.

I would like to be able to tie a glamour plate to a gear set as well but that might be an issue with the current restrictions on where we can use the plates if gear is being shared between sets. I really don't understand why game developers want to restrict where we can change our look when we're not in an instance.

While 1 per class would be nice even that is more than what's actually needed for the minimum.
Since the old glam system is still being used only jobs that share gear would need a plate, and the solo gear jobs and glam specific gearsets for lounging ect wouldn't. If we had 24 plates as a basement i'd be happy, at least until we get another job.
