    Eureka CONSTRUCTIVE suggestions thread - no negativity

    As we've seen in this thread, the English-speaking player base certainly doesn't feel like Eureka lived up to its long wait.

    So let's think of ways to make it better.

    Please constructive feedback only. If you're just here to say that "it sucks" or a smart ass answer of "they can make it better by deleting it", go stick to the other thread

    My suggestions:

    - Dailies and weeklies (challenge log?)
    Getting a few crystals for specific objectives, and not just entirely RNG, would be nice

    - Sort/search player list options
    The player list is too unruly. Maybe I want to see only people in a certain level range and/or not in a party.

    - Drop crafting mats in mobs
    Having crafting mats (or other things) drop when crystals/lockboxes aren't being dropped would at the very least provide players with something they can profit from in the marketboard when RNG isn't being kind to them.

    OR

    - Guaranteed protean crystals from all mob kills
    Have all monsters drop it, use the levels + chain as multipliers, and if you have to increase the amount needed to get the gear so be it. A big number of something guaranteed > a smaller number of something RNG.

    Though I haven't gotten to try Eureka yet(stupid work), I would say that increasing the crystal drop change to 25%, and the chain multiplier increasing it by whatever your chain is(so maximum of 55% drop chance if I read the notes correctly), would be a decent start. Maybe if you have a full party that adds 10%, and then another 10% if you all stay alive the first hour(timer is 180min, correct?) and caps out there(75% drop chance total)...not sure how they could code it to do so, but that's just my thoughts without having been able to try Eureka yet.

    Edit: Oh, and the survive for 1 hours will reset if anyone dies(friend has told me a LOT of people ignore healers who get hit twice and die).

    I fell like they could've added a lot of fun activities on the island or something and you'd get crystals depending on how well you did.

    Like one of them could've have you defending a settlement. In between attacks, crafters and gatherers could build things in order to buff the settlement defenses. The attacks would be easier or harder depending on how well you built it up. The rewards would be dependent on how well you did the attack.

    You know, activities that spice the gameplay up. Literally anything other than grinding mobs in a zerg rush.

    I think its still way too early for this. is anyone at lvl 20 and has any kind of generic data to if the drop rates get better? Content is less than 24 hrs old and we only know its a grind fest.

    I think we're getting too ahead of ourselves (Granted, we have the PTSD of Diadem which is the biggest comparison) but I'd rather wait and see more info than 90% of the feedback coming form people who played once full instance and got to lvl 5 and quit.


    I am open to do more than just zerg rush, but I need more info.

    I actually like Diadem and only dislike the lack of meaningful rewards. If they put crafting/gathering Materia VI as rewards in Diadem, I also know other people who feel similarly and would return to Diadem if our Spoils could be used for better things.

    I would also think that if people are being jaded at level 5 and quitting in less than 24 hours, that's enough to start looking into it. We should enjoy content regardless of level

    I do agree that some of the better suggestions probably will happen once people play it more, but some of the things I mentioned (like the player list) are basic enough that nearly anyone could see its use.

    From the top of my head, without having tried it yet... maybe a mechanic where if you kill X amount of certain elemental type monster we get elemental disbalance causing weather change and special FATE/Boss to spawn of opposite element with special rewards?

    Only allow 8 or 24 players (an alliance) in an Eureka instance and tune the NMs accordingly.

    I would like to RNG for the Protean crystal drop removed from the specific player and applied to the party as a whole. It is pretty terrible that 2 players in the same party can work together and have entirely different crystal counts for the same effort.
