    Guardian's Favor Adjustments/Abolishment

The main page of the Lodestone says every 12 game hours, when it's really 12 eath hours, however this typo is not my quarrel with Guardian's favor. With the new Leve system I usually have 80+ Leve credits, however I am always out of Guardian's Favor.
10 points, which is 1 Leve every 12 hours is pretty bad.

As I discovered yesterday while leveling my Gladiator; Doing leves without Favor active is pretty sad... I was level 14 so I did a level 10 3 star Leve... the first mob (level 16s) gave me 101 experience points... when I finished the Leve I went and started smacking Level 12 mobs around, and they were giving me more experience then the Leve mobs were(132 experience, and took less time to kill)!

I don't think The favor system needs to be Abolished completely, just adjusted to match the new Leve system, maybe giving us more Favor every 12 hours, or keep the 10 Favor every 12 hours and reduce Leve favor cost to 1.

Agreed. The single worst aspect of guardian favor is that it runs out WAY too quickly in respect to it's regeneration rate. Yet it is absolutely necessary to have if leves are to be useful at all. Something needs to be done. Honestly, guardian's favor is just one of those original "reward for playing less" mechanics that are pointless today.

So yeah, either do as you suggested (I like the 1 favor per leve idea) or just give all leve xp a 50% increase across the board and abolish favor completely. I really don't care how they do it as long as they don't decide to just dump favor without making any adjustments at all.

wow, i was just thinking of this yesterday. guardian favor is an outdated mechanism from the tanaka days of wanting to keep people from progressing. With the ridiculous xp gained in partys now i think guardian favor should be abolished and xp should remain as is with guardian favor.

    Hello,

Perhaps I have a different perspective? I look at Guardian's Favour as a way to be able to rush through a bunch of leves quickly to gain a lot of levels in a job that would otherwise take time?

For example, I wait till I have 200 favours (10 days), then go and do 20 leves. This made going through Botany quite helpful (and faster).

Also when doing combat leves, I only active favour when I am targetting mobs my level or 1 higher, that way the bonus is compounded on the chain bonuses.

I do not see Guardian's Favour as a way of normally doing things. But rather, as a way to help someone who has been offline for a while catch up easier, or someone who wants to power-level themselves through a few levels of a job that they would not normally do.

In other words, I think it should be looked on as a sweet treat that we occassionally get, not a regular thing we should always have.

You certainly do have a different perspective. Consider this: In the 10 days it takes you to get your 200 favor back, your leve allowances will increase by about 50 (if my math is correct). So you wish to only do 20 leves in order to drain the favor, waiting another 10 days to do any more? What of the other 30 leve allowances? If you were to do those without favor during the 10 days you waited for it to recharge, the difference would be felt. The point being made here is that guardian's favor is the only thing that makes leves worth doing. Thus, when you run out, you are forced to do your leves less often in order to regain that essential benefit.

Case and point, I would like to burn through my leves to level lancer, but it's not worth my time without favor, so I end up waiting 4 days between the times that I do 8 leves, simply because I find no purpose in doing them without the favor.

I guess my perspective on the matter is this: Since it was stated that leves are being designated as a solo mechanic, they should always be a better option than grinding solo. In fact, solo grinding should be a last resort for gaining XP. As the OP has shown, without favor, grinding is simply better. That must be remedied.
