Insecure Connection on LodeStone and MogStation sometimes.

So I have been playing the game since last June and sometimes when I go to the lodstone or mogstation my browser "Chrome" will tell me the site I am trying to go to is not secure and blocks me from it. It only happens on the SE sites no other. It is also random, so i could go to the sites for weeks or days and then suddenly it tells me that.

I only have windows defender that 10 comes with and there is not setting to turn off ssl check like I seen on different sites saying to do with other antivirus. I've done malware and antivirus scans and have nothing on my pc. I factory reset my modem and it doesn't seem to help and when I look at the advanced pull down window it says either the site or my computer isn't properly set up. I also only get it on the SE sites and no other site gets this warning. I also tried it on firefox and it also gets that connection is not secure randomly on SE sites.

I just wanted to post this here so support can see it and to see if others have this issue. Thanks for your time.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

This sounds like something specific to your web browser. Try changing some of the security settings in your web browser (If these do not work, be sure to turn these security settings back on).

Just to clarify, are you having trouble with the following links:

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

It happens randomly like I said and it happens on chrome and firefox. My security settings are fine bc I only have problems with this site. All other sites load fine it's just this one. Like I would be loading up mogstation and then randomly be like the connection is not secure, only on se sites. It doesn't happen everyday it happens randomly. Those links work fine bc like I said it's random. Chrome thinks the certificate isn't real and blocks the site this also happens on firefox.

Edit: I'm going to do a fresh install of windows later tonight and see if that helps...

Thank you for the reply Nelthazar.

It may have something to do with the extensions/add-ons on your browser. Try disabling them and see if you have the same problem. If it works, enable them one by one to see which one causes the issue.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

That's the first thing I checked and like I said it's random. I can connect to the site without a problem for weeks or days then it will give me that warning. From what I seen chrome thinks the certificate isn't right even though it is and it's only SE websites. Ever other sites works fine no problem. I had this problem too on firefox when I used to use it daily. At this point im going to reinstall windows and hope for the best bc it's not my modem or router.

Can you include the certificate error message and the certificate information. These are frequently caused by a site's certificate having expired. One known cause for this is Microsoft update not getting the root certificates updated but there are others.

I did a "Fresh Start" on win10 earlier and so far so good. But if it happens again I'll be sure to post it.
