Guess ill start with a little background:
I have a medium house in Lavenderbeds at the moment, but I am absolutely in love with the shirogane/doma style houses (Reason I stayed in lavender was because I absolutely love the ambiance/zone there)
When I saw the Shirogane house workshop skin I was happy because I was able to get a shirogane style house in my favorite zone. Then I found out the medium house is a gigantic Temple/castle tower.
Only last night I came to the realization that regardless of the skin I will put on, the interior is still going to be the lavender bed Glade version(Especially the Pillars)!
So here is my Question.
I really would like an option to be able switch the interior style (Pillars and the bands near the roof and floor) similar like we can switch the flooring and the Walls!
I vaguely remember that adding a extra slot in the interior menu was difficult to do(codewise) (if someone can confirm this please do!)
If that is still the case, is it possible to have a workaround and perhaps adding a toggle so that the Interior pillars get removed or become invisible?
And tweak the current Pillar items so that they are able to be placed in those spots instead?
I know I can just place double walls everywhere to make it work but seeing we are already quite limited in slots I rather not have to resort to that >_>
It also might give people more options and being able to match it up with their interior style and make partitions blend in more naturally!
and better yet it also gives option to add new interior styles that can match the current/new Pillars(eg. Ivy Pillars) and other partitions that will be made in the future!
I don't know how the Interior is coded ATM (Is it tied to the ward it self? Or tied to the Item(eg. Glade cottage Wall(Stone)= Glade Interior/Pillars) It's nice to know so we can understand why it might be hard to Change :3
Second thing that has been on my mind for quite some time now.
Why can't we use the Glade, Mist,Goblet en Shirogane Housing Base (eg. Glade <house> Wall(Stone)) and Roofs,Chimney/Awning) in all housing zones by now?
Back in ARR I did understand the limitations because we don't have any Workshop housing skins but nowadays with all those Moggle,Carbuncle,Chocobo,Piassa and now the Shirogane Castle skins these limitations don't really make any sense anymore (Also counts for the doors ,windows and I believe some of the hedges/garden walls!)
Just remove the ward specific limitation of these items if that's possible.
If it's not possible for the current items, any chance we can get new items that are not ward specific and OUTSIDE of relying on workshop Skins!
Example can be <Plain Glade Cottage wall(Stone)>, <Plain Mist Cottage wall(Stone)> Etc.
And it gives a chance to add new items as well for example. <Plain Cottage wall(Cobblestone)>, <Plain Cottage Roof(Straw)> Etc.
I am really missing this from back in the day when I initially set up my first house and was able to mix and match my own house.
Don't get me wrong the Workshop housing skins are absolutely lovely but I really don't like the whole total package deal of it and locking me down with the garden fence as well.
I Think people might like a cobblestone House, or maybe a cabin style house!
And it gives a chance to add a more toned down hingan/shirogane like skin! For example all the current shirogane roofs seem to be all tiles variants maybe add a Wood and/or Straw roof?)
The more toned down versions might blend in better in the other housing wards as well!
After reading the More Doors Post I decided to make a post about this.
This is something that had been on my mind since the start of HW and I finally caved last night when I came to the realization those Glade/Mist/Oasis pillars are here to stay in my oriental style house
Summary:
- Possibility to change Interior or remove Pillars (Toggle or extra Interior slot)
- Make current housing Skins (Base/Roof chimney/Awning) Free to use in all wards. (Also Doors/Windows etc)
- Add new Housing skins outside of the Workshop ( like the current Walls and roofs items) also either make them purchasable or made by crafters.
