I want to level one job of each role, which ones do you think have the most mobility? By mobility, I mean the ability to avoid attacks while still fulfilling your role (not being stuck by an ability's animation).

Um they all have mobility besides Black Mage (ALL ABOUT LAY LINE ) and PERHAPS Dragoon if your terrible DRG the is. lol
kinda a silly question since every class has same speed and concept....
By concept i mean *AoE Market* = Dodge

Eeeeexcept that a samurai, for example, running away from an AOE might be able to get enpi off, but a bard, for example, should be able to continue most of their attacks. I guess it really just depends. I don't have many 70 dps but I find that my red mage can attack more while moving, while my samurai has a lot of skills that do lock me into place for a split-second or two (both have a great jump-out skill, though). Black mage (as mentioned) really loses a lot if they move around, although it is better now that they've got a skill that lets them jump back to their leylines. I'd say that most melee dps lose dps when dodging up-close AOEs, but ranged (bard, red mage, machinist, summoner) should be pretty good for on-the-move DPS classes.
For healers, all of them are pretty versatile, but with AST's light speed and how fast essential dignity comes back, I feel like I have more "oh shit the tank just ate something and I need to heal them but I can't stop moving out of this AOE or I'll get murderefaced" moves. I do like it better than my WHM for those purposes, though it is less DPS.
I don't have a tank at 70, so I'm not the best to speak for that. And of course, all of this is subjective. I'm not sure which classes currently "do the most DPS" (I main healer), but I'm pretty sure that 'mobility' doesn't tie into that, so if you know your rotations you should be able to dodge most stuff without an issue. So take that for what it is, I guess? And I hope you enjoy whatever you pick!
In terms of mobility, Bard and Machinist are the "do anything from where on the map" kind of class. Next will come the melee classes Ninja, Samurai and Monk, and tanks. Dragoon has a small animation lock which may screw you over when used at the wrong timing, but is still more mobile than the casters. Among the casters, I'll say Red Mage has a little more mobility over the other two, while Black Mage are pretty much rapid fire turrets. Healers are hard for me to say XP I was never interested in them and never will be.
The Ranged DPS (Bard and Machinist) have the most mobility. They don't have cast times and don't need to engage in CQC to fight.
Ninja has a trait to increase movement speed, making it the most mobile of the melee DPS jobs in so far as not needing to boost their movement speed goes. Exception is while using Ten Chi Jin, which requires you stand still.
Samurai and Dragoon would be next due to both gap closing and gap widening. If you don't count that then I'd say Monk is next if they use Fists of Wind. If you consider positionals as a hindrance to mobility though then Monk is definitely the rear melee DPS.
Tanks come next, provided they even need to move. Oft times it is best to position yourself so the enemy attacks you and doesn't attack allies and then stand there and fight, moving only on occasion to dodge AoE fields. It should be noted though that both Warrior and Dark Knight have a gap closer.
Red Mage would be next. Due to it having cast times (like any Caster DPS and Healer) it cannot be constantly on the move. However, its Dualcasting allows it more mobility than other Casters and Healers by letting it move while on GCD.
After that Summoner and all Healers equally I'd say, with Black Mage bringing up the rear. Black Mage's main DPS comes in the form of all its non-instacast spells. However, it has times when it can move (Triplecast and Swiftcast) and still attack.
This is basically my 2 cents. Hope it helps!

Guildmaster of Power With Numbers (PWN) on Coeurl in Aether.
Bard or Machinist if you want range.
If you don't mind melee engage range, they're pretty much all fully mobile, and all have anti-knockbacks and gap closers to stay in range. Dragoon has a few restrictions I guess, but it's still mostly true.
I'll have to disagree with some people here about the most mobile magic DPS. It should be Summoner, not Red Mage. Summoner can move around with minimal loss due to Ruin II being only 20 potency short from Ruin III and Ruin II can potentially become Ruin IV which is also instant and obviously more powerful. A lot of its abilities are ogcds as well. With the Dreadwyrm Trance change (Ruin III becoming instant) it's even more mobile than ever before. Meanwhile Red Mage needs to successfully cast a spell first before getting the instant cast buff. Still very mobile however.
Other than that, they are right with the other roles.
Disagree.... healing abilities on Red Mage are better thanks to dual-cast ability.
Casting Jolt takes very little time....and Ver-Cure can be rapid fired. Mana being the only limiting factor.
Summoner would have the advantage in sheer DPS....but lacks in healing support.
Dunno about you..but ill pick Red Mage any day over Summoner.....I like having living friendlies over dead ones. (Yes Summoner can resurrect - but not as efficiently as Red Mage - you still need Swift Cast...and then hard cast after that...where Jolt+Ver-Raise is blindingly fast in comparison. ignoring Mana cost. This i found out running a disastrous/yet salvaged Rabanste Raid)
Basically it comes down to "You want more DPS? or stronger Healing as DPS?" Becomes a matter of taste/preference. So yes..valid points...but Red Mage is my vote.
Huh? But we are talking about mobility here.
Nevermind then.
