Tbh Diadem was better in my personal opinion because you could also gather there and get some useful and nice stuff out of it.
In Eureka the "nice" stuff is fireworks and other garbage that floats my inventory.
Diadem had more objectives, yes - you could gather, you could just look for the burried treasures...
Both Eureka and Diadem are having the problem that they're scaled with apparently the maximum amount of people participating, which makes it very solo-unfriendly and Diadem atm outright impossible and Eureka "difficult" for anyone who didnt jump on the train the first days (something, some people apparently only did out of fear to be left behind and not being able to catch up later)
...its really sad - Eureka has so many problems and it kinda feels like I can point to them and say "Here, that was bad there already, why did you repeat it?"
Fireworks, Solo-unfriendly and the disappearing of mobs and party-members are just some of them...
