I was expecting something I could run solo as well, do some treasure hunting and exploring. Really immerse myself in the world. Some fun daily quests would've been cool. instead I'm running through the forest with my tail between my legs trying not to get one shot by some level 17 monster so I can get to a fate and zerg down some monster with 100 other people in hopes of leveling fast enough to keep up and get loot boxes for dumb things that I want :/

Well, i was hoping for a little slice of FFXI in FFXIV.

    Meaning;
    - Badguys that take more than one rotation to kill
    - sense of fear/caution (death penalty does that, stick with the group!)
    - Something that as possible to solo as FFXI, you "can" solo but its not effective.
    - elemental wheel to matter (sorta does but its pretty shallow)
    - Notorious Monsters and spawn conditions
    - A Casual, one stop shop, for relics
    - Grind!

We got most of that and I'm content, for now. Because I can see potential for upgrading and evolving the content since they have said several time this will received regular updates. What I want to know is What do they mean by regular? Will it be once every second patch (like BCoB/ALEX/Omega) or will it be with every main patch (or .05 patch) And what will those updates include? Now that we have had the content for a while I would like them to finally discuss plans for it openly.

What I can see coming is Anemos is the Isle of Wind, so will that mean we can expect to see Isle's relating to the other elements? How will instancing, levels, rewards, Magia board, etc all work with more Isle's. Hopefully the player base will still be there when they do and it doesnt hobble previous versions to the point they are unplayable. I also hope they add different spawn conditions other than just "kill mob", and do so without any announcement. I like that eureka feels like its still being figured out by the playerbase. You dont get that with dungeons, you can run a new dungeon for the first time, blind, and still walk out alive and know almost everything you need to know about it. I also hope we can see new designs for the gear as its upgraded because I was kinda disappointed to see the "relics" were just the AF3 gear but dye-able.

To recap, I like and am enjoying this content, for now. I hope that feeling doesnt diminish once I hit level cap and the new updates to it come quickly enough that it doesnt get stale. Even in the FATE train days I havent seen this much player interaction and community engagement.

    NOTE TO THE DEVS:
Every time you hear a call for some kind of nerf or ease of content, do the opposite instead. "Increase drops for X item" *decreases drops but 1%* "Death Penalty is too harsh" *puts a cooldown on accepting raises so if you die too frequently you cant be raised*

Please let this content be the one that doesnt cave into the complaints that plague the forums.

Because making things as obtuse as possible out of spite to your playerbase is top-tier devwork.

Just as top tier as nerfing content into the ground cause of crybabies.

If that's what the playerbase wants, that's what the audience of the game is. Like it or not, the devs cater to the players. It's literally the whole business model: if the players are happy they give the devs money. Devs like money so they aim to please the playerbase.

You might not agree with it, but if a vast majority say something then the devs have to listen. If a vast majority say something and the devs go "lolololno" and do the opposite because of spite then they'll just foster illwill and be more likely to lose money and stop updating the game.

I'm not asking for that with all content, just this one piece of arbitrary side content. Please, just make one piece of content that caters to people like me. We exist too.

Eureka's difficulty isn't balanced at all, though. It's mostly on players from 1-10. Players 11 and up generally have much less issue, and its easy for max level players. The difficulty also punishes attempts to play the game in other ways; the long TNL makes soloing a chore, and the coordination to grind party makes it unpopular unless you premade. It's not really good difficulty.

Balancing and fixes I'm fine with but dont decrease the TNL, dont increase protean crystal drops, dont increase rare drops, that sort of thing. I see this as a great foundation that they could build off of but they NEED to build on it in a timely manner or I fear participation will drop off. Looking forward to the Isle of Fire and the Isle of Thunder!

I was expecting the grind to make me never want to touch the game again, but once I was 19 I had 3 relics in 3 hours. The later fights are fun, the chat is lively. It's ungodly boring until like 10 but I like it now.

Really wasn't a fan at launch, but the more I play the more it grows on me due to the awesome people in my groups keeping each other entertained. Expectations? I was expecting more than a mob grind that devolves further into a Yokai Watch style FATE train. That said it's MUCH easier when you get to a high level. Just got to 19 and i'm at the point where i'm able to knock out multiple weapons and already have a set of Anemos gear for my SCH.
