    Latency / 90k / Packet Loss / Aether - Faerie

Hello, I saw a lot of people having Latency issues. Like them, I have issues.

I DC in Eureka but even worst, I DC during my raids. Tonight, I was raiding with my static in UCoB. Needless to say after 5 90k in 15 minutes we simply called it a day. Only me DC. I don't understand why. I play youtube, play other online games, I stream. I simply have no issue!

I started to have connection issues with FFXIV when 4.2 arrived. Here is my packet loss track I got:

My ISP is Bell Canada and I have never ever got connection issues with FFXIV even after the server movement.

Please help me. I'm tired of this, this isn't fun for me and my group because UCoB simply can't be done with 1 member has connection issues.

204.2.229.234 eventually got to 25% of packet loss. I'm pretty confident my problem is there.

    I am on PC
    900002 - 90004 error codes
I run Discord and Google Chrome to play music.
I was booted at the spawning place in Ultimate Coil of Bahamut
I've checked, rebooted my modem. Plug and unplug my ethernet cable. My connection is superb on Discord and youtube. I don't get any sort of latency issue. I simply lag at random days of the week which I 90k multiple times within 30 minutes making it impossible to progress in content such as UCoB

Thank you for the update Aikaal.

Final Fantasy XIV requires a bit more robust connection than other programs (such as Youtube or discord) and even some other online games. If you are having any small connection issues, it might not affect your other programs but it will affect Final Fantasy XIV. We do have a couple of suggestions that may help with the latency, however.

Please make sure all background applications (including anti-virus programs such as Norton, Kaspersky, Windows Defender, etc.) have been disabled and/or closed to minimize game interference.

Try performing a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

Ensure that the latest version of Internet Explorer is installed on your PC (even if you don't use Internet Explorer), please do not use Edge as that is a different internet platform. Once Internet Explorer is up-to-date, please open the IE browser, open the "Tools", go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or to "Allow All Cookies"
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened/forwarded/triggered:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

Your ISP may forward these ports for you.*

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
