I don't think Eureka is a lost cause. Like I said before grind itself isn't bad but the structure of Eureka's is. There's too much stick and not enough carrot unless you get lucky and there are NMs chaining at a rapid pace. Then you feel good as lockboxes, crystals, and XP just rolls in.
Sitting in a corner wailing on the same mobs all by yourself because due to how the level system works if you're more than two levels different from your friends it's not worth it...that is like running up the down escalator with sandbags on your shins.

Did they ever officially reply to glaring negative feedback of Diadem 2 while it was still relevant (past downplaying the impact of the weapons drops)? I wouldn't expect anything until they are ready to rollout changes.

You have to take into account the ratio of people that enjoy Eureka and people that don't enjoy Eureka, as well as how that ratio holds up to all the other content in the game when it was new/fresh. Do you honestly expect SE to just remove Eureka because some people don't enjoy it and put something else in its place? Even if they did that it would not happen right away, in fact probably not even for months.
That said, it is nice what reply we actually got. It's honestly something at least I didn't expect.
Guildmaster of Power With Numbers (PWN) on Coeurl in Aether.

Acting on first impressions is never a good thing however, If I were to give my first impression of xenoblade chronicles 2 I would say it's a boring and terrible game with uninteresting characters especially since I have a bias against the style they went with it, however I went on and the game was much better.
Frankly they responded quickly to a pretty glaring problem, because since ppl can change opinion on how to tackle the content and all, the lockboxes sucked really bad and imho I expected it because potd lockboxes sucked too, there was nearly nothing really interesting in there and the only thing that they had could be obtained somewhere else

Breaking news: They don't care what users think. It has been shown time and again.

I enjoy the content competely. Honestly I finish most of the content now in 3 or 4 days. I cap my tokens and run the raids so I get the item for the weapon and thats it. This is a very nice refreshing change of pace Its not a single boss in a raid. a rinse and repeat dungeon, or more beast tribe dailes. Its new content.

It's not strange because it puts you out of a comfort zone and you need to devise a strategy to get things runninng and knowing your job to full too
Wait....whoa, whoa, whoa, so now that I caught this thread here and read through it...there is something about the OP's initial post that bothers me quite a bit: the whole issue regarding FCs being unable to pry players away from Eureka. Is...that a bad thing? Because to me, that just looks like it's keeping Eureka afloat. If players find enjoyment in this, why would it be a bad thing from an FC perspective? Note that I'm not defending Eureka here, I'm just questioning the idea that Eureka is the cause of FC issues.
Not to mention that it's difficult to play Eureka with friends. I primarily communicate with friends via /tells, not via large Linkshells or Free Companies in which I know maybe 10-20% of the other players. Guess what, though? If I log into FFXIV for the night and my friends have already entered Eureka, I can't send them a /tell. And if I can get hold of them, joining their party involves them exiting their current Eureka instance in order to invite me first. And even if they do that, we've got level disparity harming the experience, because SE was obscenely incompetent and failed to include a Level Sync option. There is the quote, that is very very sad. How meany posts do I need to read "oh it is fun with friends" to get the only reason this has any kind of suess is just on the fact there is something to do with friends, you can achieve that with anything. The work put into Eureka and seeing the effect it had on the game in 4.0 + does not measure up to the result. I think people are forgetting how much we lost for this no content place.
I'll admit, Eureka with a group of friends is fun enough (anything with friends is, really). SE's half-arsed design throws up a lot of barriers to this, though. And playing with random strangers is going to be an increasingly iffy prospect as Eureka ages.
And I wholeheartedly agree with the OP. We need to hear from SE. The longer disappointed players feel ignored, the more acute their disappointment becomes. SE is letting community anger fester, which is about the single worst decision they could make right now.
