I'd like to hear how other jobs fare solo in Eureka.

Firstly, I know soloing is probably a pretty bad way to spend time in Eureka. Lets not spend time discussing that.

Lets talk about how well jobs can solo if they feel like it.

I only have AST levelled to 70 so it is my only option at the moment. As far as I can tell it is terrible at soloing in Eureka. It takes a long time to kill anything and the best I've done so far is get to chain 4 on same level mobs, which is clearly not good. I'm not worried about soloing on it again haha and don't advise anyone else to try.

I've read about SMN's and RDM's doing the full 30 chains. Where on the scale do others jobs sit?

If I dump all the magicite into defense I can comfortably solo the same lvl as me on rdm. Anything that can do damage while also healing themselves can probably solo same lvl ok like rdm, smn, war, pld.

How long does that take per mob? Is it like a 30 second kill or longer? I'm hoping this thread can chart where classes sit, even for the jobs that don't perform so well. For example it can take over a minute on AST to kill same level with all magicite in offense at level 6.

I've had bad luck with summoner with magicite for offence and was gonna try dark knight next.

Solo wise xp is decent if your doing your level and are well geared. The problem is those people passing by that hit your mob and ruin your xp amount of mob not the chain when you have plenty of health. 1-3, 90-200xp is pretty easy just get magicite at level 3 and 5. DPS NIN/ SAM / DRG / MNK work pretty good for me if well geared. Tanks solo offensive stance is good as well PLD for heals if you want to test the waters. Would recommend Duo at min and do +1 level mobs past level 6 is soloing or go to NM parties at 5 if you have 3 Magicites.

I've only tried to solo with rdm and I can complete a 30 chain but I usually have very little remaining after a kill.

I've only tried solo on BLM, PLD and DRG so far, up to almost lvl 7.
    - BLM is OK for low levels due to its DPS and unlimited MP, but with no stun and no healing it makes anything past about level 5 (when mobs start getting special attacks) a lot harder.
    - PLD is good, has great survivability (obviously), and unlimited stuns, but it's DPS is a bit low (making chains harder), especially if you are spending MP on Clemency.
    - DRG is very good, with high DPS and 2 stuns (with cross-role). Blood Bath (cross-role) is also amazing for getting HP back, especially with AoE (due to the higher than normal damage output in Eureka).

Either way you will need to use Regen potions (from the Eureka vendor) if you are going a non-healer (on DRG I use one about every 3rd mob).

I would also highly recommend 1 elemental point in defence at lvl 3 (definitely at lvl 5) as it reduces incoming damage by about half (edit: for reference the 2nd elemental point in damage only seems to add about 25% extra damage, and the 3rd even less, making a 2/1 split significantly better overall in terms of out-going vs. in-coming damage; i.e. less time spent healing = more time doing damage).

Edit: Oops, meant DRG (Dragoon), not DRK (Dark Knight)

I only saw a drop in damage from around 3400 to 2700 against level 8 enemies as a NIN when putting a magicite in defense, which suggests a 20%ish damage decrease.

It doesn't really seem worth it to me for soloing, as you ultimately shouldn't have any downtime between your role actions, passive regen, and potions regardless of how many magicite you have for offense.

RDM is probably the best one due to high damage + heals.

For BLM up to level 3: 1 in elemental defense.
level 3-5: 1 in defense, 1 in offense
level 5-8 (my current level): 1 defense 2 offense

I used Eurekian Potions to maintain chains. Currently at lv 8 camping Hybrid Hogs when not in a group. But they are doing slightly more damage than the potions can regen. So I eventually have to use Mana Wall when my HP is at 50% but only if I've already started on the next hog. I can get up to chain 30 as long as I can kill within the recast time of eurekian potions. You wanna camp monsters that don't do status effects or instant special attacks that you can't evade. I was doing irregular plasmoids (Thunder) at lv 7. As long as you don't move they won't aggro you. Hogs currently at 8 as they have no special moves, just basic attacks and they seem to drop protean crystals more often. Don't hold me to that but I got like 6-7 crystals before chain 20.
