    Healing in NM Fates (Eureka)

TL: DR got 15 exp from a fate, wtf?

So I was doing a lvl 7 NM fate as a lvl 5 whm.
After the first few stones, areos etc, people in my party were dying left and right (one shots)
I chain res'ed 1 person, topped them off, res'ed the next and so on, my mana was getting taxed so I stopped dpsing, I was only res'ing and topping off.

After the boss died, I got 15 exp only.
Any idea why this is the case? I think its because I didnt dps after the opener and healing was limited as people got one shot.

probably because your dps were dead/weak they didn't pew pew enough to get your party full contribution.

Did you get the "You are below the recommended level" message? Because if you're not the adequate level for the NM (like all fates in the game) you get reduced rewards.

Even when I heal/rez a lot, like most of the fate, I still get tons of exp.

I do think party-wide damage/aggro matters (similar to how fate and Hunts credit works) and your party members were just not doing enough.

sounds like you did cast an attack spell to tag the fate so seems your party just didnt do enough to get full participation credit

Maybe it's possible you weren't getting link credit because as far as the NM was concerned, you weren't there? Like when there are so many people that some of your party members are invisible to you, and you can cast Medica and the invisible party member won't get healed even though you're standing right on top of him.

    This is the answer.

As with all FATEs/Hunts, your party's total enmity generation is pooled together and that determines the reward people in the party that have hit the enemy once receives. For this reason, especially when it's super congested, DPS roles beyond what's necessary to kill the enemy before time expires are a detriment to their party. Tanks sitting in enmity stance and healers spamming AoE heals/intentionally overhealing are vastly preferred.

Which is to say that the game rewards you more for playing it wrong.
