Please do something about Eureka and the relic quest - with suggestions

    Hi,

I have found nowhere else to put this thread than in the suggestions. I don't mind that Eureka gives us a feeling of Final Fantasy XI but that's getting out of hand right now.
I came home yesterday near 9am. I messed around about 2 hours and I did Eureka for 4 hours. I got 38 Protean Crystal and 18 Anemos Crystals. If we make it short, I can roughly grind 10 Protean Crystal and 5 Anemos crystals per hour. If I go really hard and miss nothing and go to the notorious monsters every 30 minutes, I can get 10-14 Anemos crystals per hour and 1 can be converted into 6 Protean Crystal. Assuming this rate does increase, I could get if I go really hard that'll take me maybe 30 to 40 hours or pure grind to get 1 full set.

The only option we have is grind over and over and over and over and over until a notorious monster spawns! Then it's grind over and over and over and over monsters. Let I say and I believe it's true for 90% of this community, this is not fun! I play this game with my real life friends and none of them wants to do their relic, it is not casual friendly! You can solo it of course! If you want a full set by 5.0!

I think the idea and concept has merit. I adore the elemental system and it's a really cool feature but the atmosphere it's being used is bad. Relics have always been available for everything and it is not the case in Stormblood. We waited for so long and it multiplies the disappointment we are experiencing.

I will continue it, I feel I have no option. My theory about this whole Eureka is the current iLevel of armors and weapons are based on 4.0 meaning BiS at that time was 340 + 345 weapon. Relic and weapons are 350 with 5 materias meld. I am willing to bet rather high the next step would put them at 375-380 and the last step at 405-410 with 5 materia sockets. If it is the case, it is unquestionabely the future best items we can get and as a competitive players who do compare himself to others on fflogs, this mean I must work my way.

But I can't take it lightly, I can't do something else because dying cause death penalty. I can't solo it because its simply inneficient. Everyone I know is simply not interested. I can't go with my cross-server static because the option is not available! I need 4300 crystals and it's not a current and it piles in my inventory. Yeah, I could spend it right away but I play several jobs! I need to do this for Monk, Dragoon and I would potentially want it for Samurai and Black Mage! Each job will take me 30 to 40 hours per set and it is the first step only that the only option is to grind mobs. I don't think I can achieve that. I don't work full time in Final Fantasy XIV. I don't feel the reward is worth and fun to get.

Yoshida did mention one time that if you are doing something that isn't fun, it isn't right.

    Suggestions:

It would already quell me and probabvly a lot of players if the pieces could get trade off to a different job. Let's say I have a full set of Monk! Suddenly I want dragoon and simply trade the pieces off. I would lose the melds and have to remeld. That would help the economy and I would feel grinding it once is worth it.

The concept of grinding mobs really hard for those who want it as soon as possible is fine. There is risk and focus must be applied. Can we have other casual options? Have daily quests that might not be related to Discipline of war / magic but on mini games that would give lets say a total of 50 Protean Crystals and 10 Anemos Crystals. It would still take about 80 days for 1 set for a casual that doesn't wish to grind!

This game unique features is involve a character can play multiple jobs. I really like it and a feature from Final Fantasy XI that I would have really wanted is a multijob system. I don't think everyone was keen on the grindest FFXI was.

The very last suggestions I would make are these. Please make it fun! Please, I beg of you. This isn't right now I feel forced. That might guide me to the unsubscribe button. Please let me have crossserver groups premade in it! Please make it casual friendly so my real life friends can join and have fun with me!

If that can help in any way, I saw this rather popular reddit post:

    My personal feedback

I played Eureka for about an hr. OK gains and the instance died out within a 20 mins and was until I left passing the hr mark.

And as I have read the feedback posts and threads here and reddit. It's not as bad as I was made to think before playing due to adulting but it is quite limited nonetheless.

    What it does right:

    + Being a cross-server field is great.
+ Progression can be done solo.
+ You can escape monsters so long as you can outlast the damage.
+ The field map is great so far.

    What it does wrong:

    - Being an instance because it's (apparently) the only way they can achieve cross server functionality.
    - While things can be solo'd, your best bet at progress is with a party.
    - NM conditions assume much more than what the life of the instance will grant (and Yoshi will then nix it or something)

What can be done to improve: (I go into armchair developer mode now >.>)

+ Make parties the default option, regardless of how you queue.
+ Add an option to give a 4 digit code to people to join your party/instance.
+ Find a way to always ensure the ideal number of people are within one instance.
+ Make NMs achievable even on the minimum of 24 people, both being spawned and kill-able. Scale things like you do with fates but please learn to SCALE DOWN, not up. if 100 kills are needed on ideal conditions, make sure 1/7th of that is required if the instance has 24(+/-) people.
+ Encourage to explore the field, not gate it behind imposed restrictions.
+ Add special maps like the Alexandrite stage of ARR for increased yields.
    - Remove the EXP penalty and De-leveling. Nobody wants this.
    - Remove fluff drops. People are tired of those from POTD. Make tokens instead to be traded at an NPC for the same rewards you want to keep at low RNG. Let us know that we can get what we want, one way or another.

TO add about the dealth penalty. I've just spent 30 minutes killing 2 mobs because my group was too inexperienced to know how to properly handle the Eureka dangers. This will lead to elitism and people will get kicked and witch hunted because the grind is really stressful.

I don't know how people get killed by the only real hard ones that I've seen are magic sense ones which radius is very small so it's fairly easy. Sound wise only seen cactuars but can easily be out run with one spring, seems most are sight moves not sound and sometimes can even walk behind them to avoid. I think people just have poor sneaking skills if any -.-;, For the xp grind I agree they could increase the xp at least a bit more, I make better xp soloing mobs my level ( with 3 magicites, and well geared,) than I do with most parties. Sorry but getting less than 100xp in group of 8 and by less I mean 6-20xp with mobs 4-5 levels above groups is just insane. I rather solo than party to be honest. Crystal wise they really need to bring up the drop rates -.-' 1-5 drops in chains to 30 in groups is terrible I get 7-10 on solo 30 chains :/

Eureka just needs to be redesigned from scratch. Its awful. Add different things. Its a vast land, you could have added so many feattures in all this time.

-Chocobo Treasure Hunt, Daily Quests for fetching items, killing mobs, marks, hunts etc
    -Special Bosses with area-elemental effects
    -Eureka Timeworn Treasure Maps
    -Remove penalties when we die.
-Raise the gear ilevel to match the current ones in raids
-Add more gear for different ilevels
-Make NEW LOOKING gear. (seriously you just recycle stuff)
-Make Relic Quest like previous ones
-Make fixed parties of 4 or 8 and adjust content for it.
    -More normal fates, Less mobs
-Add villages and camps with quests
-Add daily crafting system in there as well, with unique itens only gathered in Eureka
-add something rewarding that we can have a sense of fun and achievement
    -add achievements

I came home yesterday near 9am. I messed around about 2 hours and I did Eureka for 4 hours. I got 38 Protean Crystal and 18 Anemos Crystals.
This is not an issue with Eureka, but with the way you engage with it. I now have 2 completed relics, and enough crystals to make a 3rd whenever I get feathers.

By the time I got to level 19 I had naturally earned enough crystals for 2 weapons and a full set of armor.

All I did was farm monsters anywhere from 3-5 levels higher than mine at whatever pace was comfortable, and ran to Notorious Monsters as they came up. No crazy tactics, no ridiculous time investment.
So if after 4 hours all you got was a handful of crystals, you're doing this very very wrong, and I'm confident that by the time you read this reply you will have figured this out for yourself, just by looking at how everyone else in the instance tackles the content. Unless you gave up.

This so much. Anemos Crystals will be enough to get you through Relic and armor set naturally. I\\'m level 12 currently, and already have a Weapon +2 and 300+ Anemos Crystals.

On topic, Eureka has a lot of shortcomings, as there\\'s a lot of already established content that should be there at launch, especially when this was delayed for so long.

    -Vistas
    -Treasure Hunt,
    - Points of interest (we\\'re in the goddamn Isle of Val, there\\'s no documents or trace of anything or anyone? Really?)
    - Daily Hunt
    - Challenge Log
    - Achievements
    - NEW items, not reused gear
    - Why there\\'s no Eureka tab where Crystals are treated as currency and where I can check my progress (Level and Exp)

Make it so that the death penalty is applied ONLY when you died inside Notorious Monster FATEs, while the battle is still ongoing.
This is not like SAO where you die for real if you died in Eureka, because we all did. A lot. The only real reason to impose the penalty is to prevent dead players from scurrying back to base and cause a raid fallout after failed hunt attempts.

Also, if party leader kicks a party member for being dead, their experience gain is capped to 20% and won't get any drops for 30 minutes for all party members (even if party is disbanded).
And last but not least, let us grind through elemental levels faster. When even Level 1 to Level 2 takes an hour to grind, it's discouraging to get the rest of the levels.

    ARR Relic quest:
    • Get the materials from the Beastmen tribe strongholds.
    • Kill a few Beastmen.
    • Use unfinished weapon to beat Hydra in his special battle.
    • Defeat Chimera in his own special battle as well.
    • Clear the 3 hardmode primals available (extreme wasn't a thing)
    • Titan was a real barrier that many people struggled to beat.
    • Get your relic.
    • Optional: +1 the relic using 900 weekly capped tomes.

    Stormblood Relic:
Grind a ton of trash mobs for a couple days until you have enough crystals to get the relic.

Stop asking to remove the death penalty and learn how to deal with it.
It's not hard. All you have to do is learning to work with a team and be careful.
