You will get a chain, but you will get much lower EXP because you have people in your party. Yes it's slow, yes it gives me bad EXP. But it's still not a complete waste like no chain mobs. And I get to play with friends and hang out with them and chat with them.
The only glitch with that is when your higher level friends drag you to an area way above your level, and because the party isn't big enough to more or less insta nuke them you keep getting your butt handed to you. That happened to me last night. Well intended FC mates invited me along, but we were playing whack-a-mole on lvl 9 things while I was lvl 3. It was relatively late so there weren't a lot of other folks around, and because I'm still unfamiliar with Eureka mobs I promptly died 3 times in the space of 2 minutes. Very frustrating lol.
