Why going back 10 years doing Korean Farming Content?

Eureka is the worst part of exp system from FFXI, Lineage 2 and all that old mmorpg stuff we played years ago, without the smart ideas to counter the grind.

Why can't I exp with my friends if they are few levels less than me? in FFXI we had Level Sync to counter this thing...

this is a major step back.
    a really big one.

    WHY?

No one asked to change FFXIV's exp grind to mimic old FFXI or other MMORPG's exp style. If we did, they would need to reset everyone's job levels because it wouldn't be far that someone got max level in a day by old system to a new player that needs to do it in 5 months.

FFXIV can't have grinds like the old games because how fast content gets outdated and replaced. Eureka is a perfect example of that, as it was released as outdated content just to get glams... a very long grind to get glams.

People also did not want to wait 6+? months of delays for no content. All you are doing is AoE rushing down monsters and zering monsters, you could do this in any existing zone, heck hunts are a thing, they could of just have this done though the hunt system and save time everywhere.

What may not be perfect now is highly likely to be patched in the near future.

I doubt that people asked for the same grind we did in 2004 XD to not be able to play with friends.

I think they made a test with the Yokai Watch Event... to see how people would react to grind.
And it works. Now we have Eureka.

Yokai event had different fates in different regions where you could level lowbie jobs, get FATE achievements, the rewards gradually required more grind but you could still get something within just a hour. You could solo fates and still work towards the goal with your own pace even if the event was limited. Here? Good luck getting anything on your own.

    Still a grindfest but please, there was a difference. >_>;

Relic and Anima weapons have always been a grind. Where were you for 2.0 and 3.0?

I haven't seen this, and I think it's a gross misrepresentation of general forum opinions.

I've seen people asking for a return of FFXI-style content. This isn't FFXI-style content. This is the FFXI-style grind coupled with the utter mindlessness of FFXIV-style content, creating an unholy marriage of mindless grinding a la the Atma stage of the 2.x Relic weapon. I haven't seen anyone asking for this.

What the OP is pointing out is that games like FFXI had smart mechanics introduced to help mitigate the feel of the grind. Things like skillchains and magic bursts and unique jobs meant that every time a party had to replace someone, the dynamic shifted a bit. Different monsters having fundamentally different mechanics meant every few levels, when your camp shifted, the feel of the battles was altered. Things like Level Sync mitigated one of the long-time complaints from the early days of FFXI. This was present in end-game content, too; rather than spamming Kirin all the times, people had to farm pop items from the lesser Gods, which themselves required pop items... all of which meant that people didn't burn out on Kirin within a few weeks, because you didn't run Kirin five times a day, seven days a week. Similar situation with Abyssea, wherein Lights and Atma and a varied mix of popped and non-popped NMs and items to chase kept the grind spaced out.

All of this was utterly ignored with Eureka, the result of which is an uninspired piece of content that nobody was asking for.

exactly Vhailor - i really fail to understand why this content was sold like something new when it's nothing innovative, while it's just a copy of an old way of exping/grinding that FFXI developers already found way to mitigate the bad aspects of.

I hope there is something behind or at least inside that castle i saw in the distance, because I am really bewildered that such an uninspired content was saw as ready to be published.
