Eureka locks up client every 1-2 minutes

Eureka has been unplayable for me so far. Quite literally. Every 1-2 minutes the entire game locks up requiring a total force shutdown from the Task Manager. There is no method to the madness. Busy areas, empty areas, fighting, not fighting, it just freezes the whole client. I am using Dx11 client but so are other people in my FC on worse PCs than mine who are having no trouble at all. Even people who have been playing since the servers were up are having no trouble. I have no idea why this is happening but it is making an already frustrating experience even worse, and the fact there are NO posts on the forum yet or subreddit is driving me up the wall.

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

What exactly do you mean when you say the game "locks up?" Do you receive any kind of error message or does the game simply freeze?

Does the same thing happen when you use DirectX 9 mode?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

I mean the entire application just freezes and locks up. There is no error message of any kind and the game does not actually crash to desktop on its own. Like a standard Windows 10 lockup it just blurs out kind of and is unresponsive in any way. It needs force closed from the Task Manager. I will try Dx9 when I get back home shortly and report back, but that is not really a long-term solution.

I've been back and gone through about 1200 xp's worth of monsters at level 1-2, and no crash yet. Definitely seems tied to Dx11 somehow so far. Again, this isn't a sustainable solution though.

Thank you for the update AvalonBright.

I'm not sure why it is only happening around the Eureka area, perhaps it's a congestion thing. On the bright side, you can play the content in DX9 mode for the time being.

As for DX11 mode, make sure that you do not have any other programs or overlays running while playing the game. I would suggest trying a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

Also, make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date.

I'm guessing you have an AMD branded card? If so, it could be tied to that.

Thank you for the input Xeon.

However, I don't believe there are any specific issues between FFXIV and AMD cards, at least none that can't be sorted out.
