I am wondering...if we get to choose which server to transfer to...what will happen to all the non-paying characters? Where will they go? Will they choose a new server if/when they resubscribe or will they just find themselves on a new server?

I have been thinking that perhaps SE should announce that "X server is melding with Y server, but you have the option to choose a diff server before the merge.

My survr is the bestest survr in whole werld bcaus it haz peeple who are kool and we hav fun timez together and then we did quests and then there was a leve and stuff and so we did like a boss thing and then I used my axe to chop trees down, which was super awesum, and then me and my friends were all like "This rulz!".. and... uhm... The End. That is why my survr is better than the other ones, bcaus they are less kool and stuff. Bestest evar!

If we get to actually choose where we go then it's different... but that seems so counterproductive when you look at SE's plan...
They want to merge servers to increase the number of active players at each peak time
And Yoshi has a target number of active players per server...
it just seems like they'd have more control over reaching these target numbers if they merge servers as opposed to letting people choose... which could result in some servers being too busy and others still being too empty

but that's the problem he is referring to. i'll use me for example. i'm very active in 3 ls's. if given the choice and those chose different servers it would split those ls's not help them. if it was this server merges to that server then everyone on it would still stay together.

say all the na ls's go to this server and the jp players go to that one it doesn't help yoshi accomplish his set number per time zone. that would only be accomplished with him seeing like a big pop jp server and merging it with a big pop english server. for him to do this he needs to look at not only how many people are logged on per time zone, but decide where their servers population should go to best fit his goals. the best way for him to achieve his goals would be merging complete servers together.

When they announce that Karnak's characters are moving to Selbina, I will make a character named Rydin Reach and name a linkshell after yours. Then you'll understand at least part of the difference. ^^

Best case scenario... name priority is given to whomever made the character first (Which is what it looks like they are going to do)

Worst case scenario... I change my name... not the end of the world
I'd probably choose something super lame like Hope Estheim or Sissypants McBoner or something along those lines
