That would assume people would want to do the base part of gameplay to begin with. or feel the rewards enough to do them ad nauseum for weeks/months over an evening with byakko and 2 dungeons.
You know what would be nice though. Not having to dig through instances to find the one that had a good train going again.
Alright, after a few days of trying it out, my thoughts:
- This is NOT solo friendly content. Gaining xp is long enough in a party, I can't imagine how long it will take to level alone. The hp bloated monsters 2-3 shot at my level (potion mashing and all), and chaining them, again, will take so long it's ridiculous. To top it off, the threat of losing an obscene amount of xp WHEN you die, if you can't call for some god-sent healer to come save you? Seriously, calling this solo friendly content is a flat out lie.
- The xp gain is far too slow, I can understand a grind of some sort but this seems to be taking it way out of hand. Again mentioning the death with no rez penalty, which is just insult to injury, yes I want to grind till my eyes bleed just to unsurprisingly die and have no one be around to bring me back, then down level because you just took a shiv to me for a huge chunk of my VERY hard-earned xp.
- I'm already seeing issues with level differences, in a party and on the field as a whole. Going into a mixed-level party either puts the low levels at huge risk (1-shot by everything that looks at them wrong, dealing next to nothing in damage), or grants the higher levels absolute bupkis per enemy kill. Give the monsters a set xp amount, it feels like even in a party of 1-5 levels that someone will be getting penalized at every option.
- I understand the NMs are supposed to be rare, but we need more fates, something to grant us small chunks of xp in this very stingy zone. Or some quests other than Krile motioning vaguely into the distance every time you manage to finally gain a level. The NM rarity is also posing their own issues with the 10-15 levels spawning and annihilating them before the low levels fighting farther off can even trek to the location.
- Okay so I know the point of this place is you want us to die. Tons. Somehow running our little legs off and getting eaten alive while we do so builds character, totally. So fine we won't be able to fly over all the certain death. But our mounts, you really are gating them behind level? See above issues with getting to a NM before dead.
- I must express my devastation that you made the most awesome drunken weapon smith who I completely enjoyed dealing with through previous relics into nothing more than a store merchant. Give me back Gerolt shenanigans!
- With how much grind, and the hearty amount of protean crystals needed to buy our relic gear, why is it that upon release it's very nearly obsolete? It feels like we're slaving our butts off for nothing more than dye-able, glowing AF gear. I know that savage raid-tier will always be the best, but all this work seems like a slap in the face when by the time we get it we'll have full mendacity sets and the next 24-man is on the horizon.
- On loot boxes, aside from the overwhelming amount of glitter and V materia in them, why is it all the glamour pieces, orchestrion rolls and the like are untradable? It's such a waste to get outfit pieces you don't want, but hey someone else might, and just be forced to throw them away. I worked for these loot boxes, I should be able to profit off the stuff I don't want, or gift them to friends and FC members as I please.
So, my few thoughts on what seems like an incomplete, untested, and far too unforgiving piece of content. I certainly hope with everyone's comments that a great many adjustments are made, because I WANT TO enjoy this, I WANT to earn relic gear for all the classes I enjoy playing. I don't want to just continue forcing myself to keep going in just so I can get my gear for my main class, because I can't NOT get my relic for that at least... Please, take our thoughts very seriously and fix this place, don't have it end as diadem 3.
Delved in for first time last night for 1.5-2 hours. Got to level 4; managed to kill 2-3 NMs. I went in with a group of friends (4 of us total) on Discord. Little to no issue getting kill chain 30 that way.
It’s enjoyable to shoot the breeze while romping through mobs...at least for a bit. The NMs are pretty lame thus far since it’s the typical blob of players and spell effects so playing as melee is ridiculous when you can’t see half of what’s going on.
Reward structure for the relic gear would’ve been fine if this launched with 4.2. As it is now...underwhelming. I already have my 360 weapon. Also the glam gear being untradeable is annoying.
Could use more daily quest type of stuff or some other objectives to help break up the monotony.
Wise man say, quicksand foundation will never have strong castle built on it.That's why i said in my first post that it will all depend on what the team plans to do with Eureka in the future.

Some people are saying they dropped the ball already.
In my opinion they have a good base to add and expand on it. If they fail on doing that, then and only then the ball will be on the floor.
Remember they delayed this from 4.15 to 4.25 (that's 3.5 months) to better balance it ... but evidently forgot that that crunched up the time schedule for people complete their stuff (4.3 in ~8 weeks away and it WILL have 360 gear dropping from the new 24man, and even at 1 piece/week limit you'll have better gear faster than with Turdreka - plus you can upgrade your tomestone gear to 370 .... keep fighting for that 350 dyeable AF gear though!) not even to mention the peopel getting late starts and unable to hook up to the zergtrain due to being lower level ... and I won't even go into how well this is going to age -- just remember the shattering success Diadem was and how populated it is today!

I'm already noticing many ppl afk in the camp and run out to the FATES once it pops and then back to camp to afk...so yeah..we're back to FATE train..
you just grind on mobs constantly to spawn a fate, when I can just do open world fates in eorzea ... so yeah....
I have been doing it for 2-5 hours every night since it came out and have about 1000 proteans, I am not quite sure what relic as my main already has 370 so I am just doing it bc it's pretty fun with a group of friends, it's something other than Savage to slam my face into it.
Just went in again since people like to keep telling me I experienced it wrong.
There was a fate spawn train, yes. I hopped into a party that would "chase" it. And by chase, I mean let's leave exactly our healers and casters behind, sprint away without a word of alert even before the NM is dead, and leave them to have difficulty catching up.
I can't follow a train if I'm 1 shotted on the way because the tank in our party didn't feel like waiting 15 seconds. I already had a terrible taste in my mouth and trying to follow the pact like people say to do because it "fixes the problem" only made me hate it even more. And now that I noticed the furnishing it gave me does not work at all with my house, I have 0 reason to go there now. I'm not torturing myself for a relic. I'm not torturing myself for Sigma Normal gear. I'm not torturing myself for furnishing/Glamour I'm not going to use.
If anything I'll just wait until everyone's 20 and buy a power level.
The only reason to do this is for the T-Rex mount!
