I'm doing it for Krile. But that's about it. The relic armor is lack luster and still weaker than current gear.
Managed to get to level 3 after over an hour of soloing & partying. Its mind-numbingly slow exp right now because of groups just piling on each other and zerging the same mobs, so I logged off for a bit. It feels almost like Abyssea from FFXI but with an annoying elemental wheel that will get you absolutely murdered if you pull hate in a party and its set to maximize DPS. Never got to do Diadem at all but I imagine its fairly similar to how that was at one point if what I read was right.
Just like others have said, it IS Diadem all over again. End of the story. They've taken forever to release this, under the premise that it would be worthwhile and "nothing like Diadem", but alas. I'm not disappointed, this is exactly what I was thinking it would be, so. Yoshi lied to us, once again.
Honestly, I feel that way too many folks set their expectations farrrrr too high for this. I was expecting a grind fest, and lo and behold, it's a grind fest. Set realistic expectations, peeps. Low bar = little disappointment when the content actually drops.
We sacrificed one dungeon per patch for this. To receive a DELAYED patch with a simular looking map, with no new monsters, with a terrible, boring grind for gear that isn't that good and doesn't even look new inside a void world.

They say if you lower your expectation enough, you won't even try it.
Look at pvp. People expect it to be so terrible.
I'm okay with it so far. Mostly because it tickles my FFXI nostalgia more so than Diadem. It also helps that the crystal (Atma 4.0) has a chance from dropping from any enemy and not from after doing a FATE. The drop rate increases the higher your kill chain is, too (seems to guarantee a drop at 30, which is when it resets).
Speaking of, low rank/level enemies aren't HP sponges like the ones in Diadem. So you can grab up to 5-10 mobs and AoE them down pretty quick (DPS, tanks will actually love you if you pull mobs for them, unlike in dungeons). Got 18-19 crystals in around an hour. Got to level 2 (and a half) in an hour, too. Higher mob level = higher drop rate chance it seems, so crystals will probably drop more frequently if you manage to hit level 20 and farm those level 23 mobs in the caves (did not touch. Got KO'd by a level 9 Bhoot because their Terror Touch hits for 23-40k. They auto-attack for 10-15k).
I know people said they wanted FF11 again, but did y'all ever consider there were people who didn't?
