Exploring the map with my FC was pretty fun. I have to admit when we saw the pegasus I wished that Astrope stood like that. They looked so proud... even though they did run funny.

It was worth it if only for that stupid bear fate. They have one bear boss, I forget his name. He spawns in the middle of bears and poison clouds, each which take their turns one-shotting every single person no matter where they might be. It was a whirlwind of bears and death. They should put those damn bears in savage, they are that brutal.
So I gave it one more shot and spent an additional 2 hours in Eureka, Final thoughts: The place is absolutely gorgeous it feels like all 3 2.0 area combined into one area.... Its simply breath taking. Unfortunately, that's about it. Old MMO's were the way they were due to Hardware and software limitations. Back then it was new and somewhat tolerable because that's all we knew. Fast forward to 2018 and looking at Eureka the content is shallow. There are no daily/weekly quests. There are no hunts, riddle quests, puzzle quests or even explorer quests. The land is loaded with monsters that will 1 shot you and you spend so much time hugging walls to avoid combat just to get to fates or higher level monster locations.
Eureka has a lot of potential. FFXIV is an amazing MMO with gorgeous open worlds and has a lot of depth to its story... lets get back to basics and grow from there. If the content is not fun don't release it. 2.0 relic i80 to i90 was the best relic content. It was fun, it was engaging, it tested players but didn't push them away. i100 relic to current relic was nothing but boring content....please make getting the relic weapon fun again.

Were numbers invented or discovered? How many Moogles does it take to make Kuponut rum? Answer: zero... They will give you a quest to make it.
I think this is my gripe about it though. Shouldn't we expect more? I mean, this is the kind of content that I would expect in 2008, not in 2018. In addition, we are paying customers and just because we have been handed a pile of dung in the past doesn't mean it's any more right now. SE is a huge company with all kinds of money who should be able to do better than this pile of stink. Should we not hold their feet to the fire here? Our time is precious and there are plenty of other games with much better content to play, some even free to play (Warframe).
I personally have high hopes for this, however i know by the way this thread is going, it will probably never progress from where it is now. but i'm gonna give this my time and hopefully the guys that do like it to will hopefully help this content not die a death like the other bits of content.
The plus side of this is that its not gated behind a FC airship so the people who actually enjoy can still access the content. so it may actually come into what its meant to be.
i like the option of actually utilising my time for something and feeling that its been achieved than joining a group for a small chance of a drop thats if the party doesn't fail after the 1st try and disbands, which feels more like a waste of time than this.
i'll stop there lol i keep going into a rant then deleting it.
i hope others here too are liking it, and those that dont may slowly warm to it at least.
I honestly enjoy it. The place looks really cool, the little bit of the story revealed is interesting, elements actually having a real combat impact now is nice and you can do it on your own or with a group.
It's not mindblowing but I find it chill and fun enough to do.
My only real complaint is that when there's too many players in an area, my own party members get phased out and I can't heal or res them. SE seriously need to address this. Random players shouldn't take priority over party members when the game chooses who to not phase out.
Just spent 5 hours in Eureka, got to level 5 and what I think is that this is ridiculous.
We can no longer trust what they say. This never happened in ARR, or HW for that matter. It was a bit slow, but the content was good and rewards mattered.
This is SBs relic quest? Farming mobs for recycled design with low ilevel? How did we go from different artistic books with different objectives, from Atma farming, from farming and buying items with tomes, from light gathering... to this? You know, a sense of artistic effort. Who designed this? What is this for exactly? I did all relics for my BLM, when i was done it felt good, like I achieved something, broke my own limits or something AND the relic actually mattered, the stats, the look etc. No weapon would compare to my relic for a long time. This took all these months SE, and was delayed? We didnt get dungeons cause of this?

So the more I play it, the more I'm starting to not hate it.
The NM are fates that are triggered, not timed. Once people figure out the spawn conditions (and how many there are), people will work towards spawning them more often for big exp leveling boosts, Anemos Crystals (which you can save for last step, but if we get to a point where we're constantly spawning NMs the exchange for Proteans might be appealing), and lockboxes.
It's possible THAT is what we're really supposed to do in Eureka and we just need time to figure it all out.

i guess i will just repeat what many already have sais though every opinion counts hopefully.
the place itself looks great but could be still larger. i was hoping for some real exploration.
that's basically the only positive thing so far.
After that it's just boring. grinding mobs is just not fun. oh never was. but i know there ppl that like this stuff.
maybe it'll be better at a higher level but right now i don't feel motivated at all to go this way. it shouldn't be so dull at the beginning.
the only future related meaningful reward is the relic. the armor is just glamour (True endgame, i know)
it's like they put all i disliked about ff11 in this place.
the saddest thing is just how long it was in the making and what gave up for that.
