I wasn't able to play for sometime and have only recently been able to experience Eureka... and its really a let down. It's just a boring grind. I have only managed to get to elemental level 5 because I just can't sit there killing the same mobs over and over for long. The fact that the relic/dyeable artifact armor is locked behind this is soul crushing to me. That's basically my first impression.

How many men am I involved with? Well that depends... do you mean men as in males? Or just midlanders?

I sure hope the next stage of Eureka is alot different....some people been saying they gonna make stage two actually difficult and screw over any NM Training. Since Yoshi wants to keep Relics rare and a pain to get. Apparently Stage 1 Eureka is just to get your feet wet.

After spending a lot more time in Eureka, I feel safe in doubling down on my stance that Eureka is bad content. It's full of half-assedly implement MMO design philosophies of the pre/early-00s that other companies stopped doing for a reason. People kept calling it challenging early on which like...sure...I guess? If you've never played another video game in your life, Eureka might seem dangerous and challenging, but if you've played any other game that's even remotely challenging, you realize just how broken Eureka is. It's a chore.

Having to get around on foot, dodging enemies is more tedious than anything else. It's not like the AI in Eureka is smarter than in the rest of the game. You can run right behind them and right through them, but as long as you don't run into their LoS, you're 100% fine. And even if you do, 30% of the time it doesn't seem to matter. This whole mechanic is made even more pointless by the fact that at this point, most people in Eureka are lvl 20 so dying doesn't mean shit other than having to wait for someone to come over rez you within the 10 minute window given to you.

It's not like de-leveling is a big deal anyway. It doesn't really set you back in any way or lock you out of anything important. Pazuzu feathers maybe? But everyone I know all has a similar story of "I have way too many feathers and am only holding onto them in case they let us trade them in or we need them for future upgrades" so it's abundantly clear you're not going to have trouble getting them.

The other big draw is it supposedly fostering a sense of community which like...no...just no. Eureka chat is either the worst open mic night you'll ever experience in your life or dead quiet with people arguing over which boss to wait at next. Sure, people were "working together to solve problems!" etc in the first 2-3 weeks maybe, but now it's just talking to pass the time and, again, most people don't even talk. Most people go afk waiting for NMs to spawn. There's really no need to talk to each other once you gain a vague understanding of how Eureka works. I use my keyboard to shout for a group then set it aside and pickup the controller once I get in because no one ever has anything [worthwhile] to say. While I'm sure people have made friends in Eureka, I would bet anything those people are in the minority.

It started off as a bad, boring grind that's been made worse (or better now that I think about it...) by the fact people are maxed out now and know what to do so what little challenge or mystery there was is completely gone now even for low-level players because those high levels players nullify any challenge whatsoever. And still I do it because I hate myself. Well...not that much. I too mostly just go afk while I watch netflix or something and occasionally glance over at the other screen to see if anything spawned yet. If the relic armor/weapons weren't attached it, I sure as hell wouldn't be doing it though. And I doubt most other people would too.

Sorry for necro'ing an old thread, but I just spent two hours in Eureka.... soloed up to EL 5 and tried to get a party.... was completely ignored by the entire zone. Couldn't even get anyone to even tell me I if my EL was too low and therefore the reason why I was being ignored. I don't intend on going back to Eureka... seems like if your not in a clique, you don't have any business there. At least, that's my impression of it.

Do your challenge log. Eureka can be soloed in those early levels. At EL5 you won't be able to do the content that everyone else is doing anyway

Not only that, but I believe that train is the strongest in Anemos. It's been a few months since I've been there, but just give a couple of shouts, especially when there's an NM up. From my experience, people usually don't mind bringing lower leveled players if there's an NM train going on. Just make sure to tag the NM at least one to get the experience. The buffs to XP gain should be enough that it won't take you very long to level up with that method. But keep in mind that I also haven't set foot in Anemos in months, but my advice may be a bit outdated - but couldn't hurt to try it.

Just do /shout lvl 5 lf train
    or
    /shout lvl 5 lfg

You'll learn more of the lingo as you continue through Eureka.
