You got me there. They most certainly didn't help one bit. I agree they likely consumed a lot of open free slots that could have allowed Balmung more authentic players. In a sense they have no reason to do so BECAUSE those servers are low pop. Much less revenue potential there, no? Now don't get me wrong, I'm not arguing against Balmung being one of the more populated servers, maybe still the most populated even without the bots, but we have a LOT of bots on Balmung right now, so the question is are there enough bots to have tipped the scale and get us locked again, where without them we might've been able to go on for another patch or two. They certainly didn't help any, that's for sure.

The irony being all those alts players created while they could boosted the perceived population, while the actual population may not have significantly changed. GG, Balmung, for facilitating your own perception of a "dead" server.

1500 people transferred to balmung after it was unlocked, in just 20 days.

I doubt inactive alts of people on other servers or alts from people who were already on the server had much to do with anything.
It's the bots + people transferring mains that likely caused it to be locked as that's what causes server stress

Very happy I managed to sneak on before it got locked.

This is actually a good point. BoTs and Gil spammers are going to concentrate where the populations are highest and work down..that is just strategy. You put more resources into the busy areas. Maybe this will cause SE to implement other ways to report said bots, and actually DO something about them.......then again, maybe not. Suppose time will tell. That was a fast as fack relock though. In a sense they have no reason to do so BECAUSE those servers are low pop. Much less revenue potential there, no? And what is even funnier... all those BOT characters, hundreds of them, if not thousands made on Balmung during the past two weeks.
