    Unable to Complete Version Check

So today I got this error when I was trying to login the game. Keep in mind I'm playing a Steam Version of the game.

The error was "Unable to complete version check [30410][30607][10009][19900]12175]". First thing I tried was to research about possible solutions, which I have found some, so I did the following:

1º - Made changes in the FFXIV_BOOT.cfg with the BootVersionCheckMode set to 1 instead of 0. = NOT WORKED

2º - Tried to ''check files'' in my game settings, which was grayed out, couldn't check the files.

3º - Deleted the game and tried a fresh installation, which gave me the same error message in the first login, so now I can't even update the game anymore. Also before the game instalation I deleted everything regarding it, even the in my game folder.

4º - Checked windows update - I'm using original Windows 7 with all updates checked.

5º - Made a complete Scandisk trying to find out errors, there was none.

6º - Reseted my router, IP and checked all DNS possible errors, which was none.

7º - Unstalled Steam, deleted all files and made another clean FFXIV installation, together with some of cleaning steps, not worked.

So after all this, I'm still getting the same error, I can't login the game, I can't update it anymore. Anyone could help out solve this issue?

I guess I solved my issue after some deep research. If someone got exactly this error, this is caused my some changes in Regedit caused by some windows update thing, I don't have any other explanation, because I haven't done any changes recently.

There are 4 registry edits to make with this fix, and in order to open the registry editor, go to start menu search and type 'regedit' (without the quotes). Follow the below files paths like you would any other:

1º - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\WinHttp -You only need to click on the WinHTTP folder, not anything inside it. Right click on 'DefaultSecureProtocols' and modify. Change a00 to a80.
    2º - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\WinHttp -Same as 1. this is the 32bit folder.
3º - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings -This Registry entry is titled 'SecureProtocols' This might already be set at a80.
4º - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings -Same as 3. As soon as you make all 4 changes, you should be able to login to the launcher, no restart required.

In FFXIV forum post that I have found the solution for my problem it was stated that this was caused by some kind of 'easy fix' provided by MS to solve problems, guess some people that play Skyrim had issues that required this fix. Well I don't own nor play skyrim in my PC, but I work a lot with gitHub for web programming reasons, I may have run some commands that may have caused this issue, but I couldn't track down my recent works to confirm it. Anyway hope this can help others with the same error.

Here is where I have found the solution: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...easy-fix-51044

So all thanks to Lucatiel for solving this.
